kek, I know this is either bait or some sort of attempt at dissuading but I remember that Brtitany Venti, when she was in a crusade against Gura in particular and vtubers in general, saying

Barely did she know that if Yagoo has a channel with 200k subscribes and if he EVER monetized his channel and live streamed people would FUCKING SUPERCHAT HIM DIRECTLY THROUGH IT for the lulz and the appreciation.

Same with A-Chan, if she monetized the main channel people would shower it with money even knowing it goes straight to the company 100%.
It is funny that people still didn't understand that
1) it is people with enough disposable income sending money through donations
2) they do it not because they "love" whoever they're sending money to (except, of course, some outliers) but because they appreciate what they get for free and want to pitch in so it can continue existing.

It is not a lot different from tossing a tenner at the plate in front of that very good sax player doing it for free in the town square.
