They're told what to say, what not to say, they have strict boundaries and receive coaching on how to interact with fans; how to deal with intercompany relations.

Luca IS a kind character. The person who plays him has flaws much like you and I.
Vtubers are people, every day people who perform in an environment delicately crafted to give them power.

When you watch vtubers you have to understand the kind of logic that surrounds them and suspend your own beliefs in order to tune into the frequency and context that is being presented to you.
You're losing your individuality for the sake of entertainment.

This is cool and all; just don't drink the kool-aid too much.
