Lord of the Board 2 is finishing up. During signups you have to submit a promo, and the organizer just read mine. I'm dying of cringe bros, I'm not a writer.
But here it is if you wanna see what I submitted:
[One day, while patroling outside of Inkwell Castle, a Novelknight stumbled upon a letter.
However, it was no mere letter. It was a letter of challenge!
"Come one, Come all!
Defend the honor of thy homeland!
Bring home the coveted Championship!
ENTER The Lord of the Board Tournament!"
With the letter in tow, the Novelknight went to inform the Princess.
"Oh, my sweet Novelknight." she said, with a giggle.
"Would you be so brave as to honor our Kingdom with your attendance?"
The Novelknight's eye widened in surprise, but quickly narrowed to a determined glare.
"Ofcourse, My Lady."
And just like that, the Novelknight turned, and set off on a journey to bring honor to his Princess and the Kingdom of Inkwell./spoiler]
Thanks to everyone who showed up to support, and thanks for all of the feedback in creating Novelknight, I'm quite proud of his performance. We didn't win, but being one of the highest scoring in the initial groups and making it to semis for Tag is something to be proud of!

we don't have any singles matches the first weekend, but we've got a tag match (our partner is /wg/, team name is "The Library") at approximately 3:50 PM eastern time on December 9th. times are likely subject to change, depends on how fickle the game wants to be.

More progress has been made on Novelknight. I've wrapped up his moveset more or less. Based on the response it got, I'll be keeping Novelknight's initial test entrance and song. (https://files.catbox.moe/pvqgxl.mp4)) And based on the feedback I got here yesterday, his profile should be set as well.
As for what I settled for his profile on based on responses:
Novelknight is high in Loyalty as well as Desperation, Average levels of Pride, Respectfulness, and Boldness, and is slightly Aggressive.
He hails from The Queen City, announced as "Blackwell Knight"
He utilizes his Poison (Ink) Mist Payback to turn the tide of matches.
There are a few more things I'd like some input on: His signature moves and finishers. Based on suggestions, Novelknight is a technical fighter and as such uses many submission type moves. I've chosen some moves based on feedback, to consider variety, and in relation to Shiori

Signatures: The Bearhug was suggested by an anon; Shiori often hugs us Novelites at the end of streams, so Novelknight is simply sharing the love.
The Wheelbarrel Facebuster was something I picked out in relation to Shiori's spontaneous nature. It's a move that can come out of nowhere, and gives Novelknight an option against opponents who might resist his submissions.
Finishers: Silence was another one I chose, one for the technical nature, but two, with the way the headlock is held, its as though Novelknight is telling his foe a tale, and it felt on brand.
Last but not least, I saw the Hangman's Neckbreaker as the method Novelknights used to kill or incapacitate Novelights when they were without weapons in the past. It's a very brutal move, and again gives a non-submission option.
Let me know if these seem fitting, or if you think Novelknight should be using something else. No need to be specific, if it feels off, lemme know and we can work on it.
Also! We can give call out names for the announcer to say for these moves, rather than their specific in game designation. For Silence, I was thinking "Bedtime Story" and for Hangman's Neckbreaker "Banish the Light". If you have any suggestions for the signatures, or different names for the finishers, that'd be cool too.
After that, what's left on the table is deciding our final crowd sign, and making a custom graphic of some kind for the videoboards during his entrance.

Alright, I'm finally available to work on Novelknight for LotB again.
If you'd like, please give opinions/feedback on some of the options here, as they're part of the aesthetics and behaviors of our entrant.
First thing I'm looking at this morning is profile information, starting with "location". This is where the announcer will say our wrestler is from during his entrance. There are only built in answers so here are a couple that I think seem fitting/cool from the "fictional" category:
>The Queen City
>The Other Side of Darkness
>Chroma City
>Every Man's Nightmare
Next Up is "Personality Traits", these will effect how the wrestler's AI behaves. They're double sided sliders (so they can be neutral or lean a way). I'll list them out and give my understanding of how they effect the AI's behavior, tell me how you feel Novelknight would lean towards (or remain neutral)
>Egotistical/Prideful
More likely to taunt opponent vs More likely to appeal to the crowd
>Disrespectful/Respectful
More likely to cheat vs more likely to follow the rules
>Desperate/Perservant
More likely to cheat (in different ways) vs more likely to kickout/not tap out
>Treacherous/Loyal
Betray or walk out on Tag partner vs Try to save and defend tag partner
>Cowardly/Bold
More likely to walk away from a match, or exit the ring to take breathers from the action vs More likely to perform highflying or high risk maneuvers like jumping out of the ring
>Aggressive/Disciplined
More likely to take the match out of the ring vs More likely to keep the match in the ring
In the meantime, I'm going to do some filling of his moveset, and prepare some potential Signature Moves and Finishing Moves to select.
