As for the first question, the Selenistic government is a distortion of Purism, which believes in the destruction of all heretics!!! But some decades ago they have realized that's not really good for diplomacy and thus, silently changed their stance on foreign religions!! (The territories Selenium conquered would be forcibly changed to fit Selenism however!!!)
Hospitality is extremely sacred in Selenium, so any immigrants, diplomats or ambassadors are not to be harmed in any way, as long as they haven't committed any crimes!!
Speaking on a meta level, /haha/ enjoys being isolated from the rest of the /nijien/ thread, so I think it's a good representation to not have any foreign religions influencing Selenium!!!
To summarize: Selenium only sees their archbishop as a true oracle, but respects any other foreign religion as long as they aren't in it's path!!!

Now for the second question!!!! It's a bit complicated honestly as I haven't been able to flesh out the lore yet!!! Although I have to see with Panon if he agrees with me, I believe the current king Magnus is a proponent of realpolitik and is modeled after Frederick II and Ogedei Khan!!!!
Although Selenium wishes to conquer most, if not all of the Nijicontinent, their current factionalism would not allow it!! Some reforms in Selenism have to be made in order to have a more flexible foreign diplomacy!! But even then, they still want to annex the entirety of Syrenia!!!
