REALITY has existed since the second vtuber boom (2019). literally allows anyone to be a vtuber as long as you have a phone that can run the app. plenty of incentives to be on the platform (free assets via gacha, competitions to join in on "big" events, etc.)
their own vtubers mostly stream on other platforms. to be fair, they originally had a different division running the vtuber business (WFLE). they lost the last one that still stream on REALITY last month.
last year they consolidated all their vtuber projects (FSP, VeBOP, Specialite, RK Music/Live Union, etc.) under REALITY studios and hired former twitch exec to run it.
their only "big star" so far is HACHI (4-5k avg ccv on yt)
picrel is from their q2 report. they've been running the REALITY platform in the red for years to get this far. they can do that because GREE is big conglomerate with decent revenue from anime, game, e-commerce/data broker platform, etc. their current plan is just to get enough global users to get them to the positive. they already know they've reached saturation in the jp market.
