Ever heard of Improvisational theatre? Stand-up comedy?
Competent vtubers pre-plan their stream with topics, anecdotes fitting the character and such, while it's not fully scripted it's still a play, meant to please/entertain the audience.

If saying X or Y make it more entertainment or appealing, then they'll do it. And there is no expectation that somehow the performer should be like the character they act. Only newfags who flooded this board think this.
I'll agree that JP ones are better at this kind of Zatsudan but that doesn't mean EN are all trash at it.
