Sometimes you have no choice but editing it yourself if you want to inpaint something complex but at least personally I think the image tends to look better if you can avoid that when possible.
Another thing I should mention is that you can sorta gradually inpaint it. Like if you try to inpaint and get something that's still not good but at least is closer to what you want, use that image as your inpainting base instead.

I tried a bit to fix the messy hand using only inpaint without any manual editing, just to see if it would work, and I think it got a little better? But sometimes you're better off just sucking it up and opening up paint.

Oh and also since I guess you're using a lora made without tons of reference images I should say that sometimes a bad lora can really mess with hands as well. I tried making one way back in the day of some smaller vtuber, basically every pic in the dataset had bad hands and it became near impossible to generate good hands. Not that there's a ton you can really do about this though
