High res fix is pretty much necessary if you want images larger than 512x512 or 512x768, straight up generating images at higher resolutions results in very fucky outputs. Basically you make your original output 512x512 or 512x768, and use highres fix to upscale that to x2. Latent upscale at 0.55-0.6 denoising strength for additional detail from the AI, or one of the RGAN or whatever it was called upscalers at 0.3-0.5 strength, with about half the steps your original image.
