Tower of Tattle Part VI Episode 10: A Stupid Game

Yeah, I feel you man. You know, when I was planning part vi i actually was heavily debating between what it is now, which is meet all the murder victims one by one, and victim intro, murder, victim intro, murder, where it would not be the actual timeline of original events but more just that they were jumping back and forth. I decided that would probably be too schizo, but part of me is wondering if that might've been the right move.

There's definitely an inherent tension between like... you know, once I got an inkling of a story idea I really liked, I realized it was only ever gonna be fractionally about Shiori, especially since she isn't even the main character. I know for a lot of these things people kinda go why not just write an original story then. I think that's fair. Idk if I'd care to do it. And I might be way off, but somehow I feel like that wouldn't work quite right either. I don't know for sure why, because for sure the amount of lore I was working with to make this story from the start was always scant since it started the month of their debut and I don't think that lore has been much expanded anyway. Maybe the best way to put it is that, I do think it's a legitimate criticism that this work is not an exceptional highlight of Shiori since so much of it really isn't about her. But despite that, the work is still dependent on the personality of Shiori the vtuber to tick. Like... I think the character Shiori is a reasonably good interpretation that matches her idiosyncrasies, and that interpretation is part of the fundamental vibe and rhythm, and legally distinct Shioreo would not quite work.

Well, anyway, despite the fact that i'm not watching chuubas much right now out of sheer busyness, shiori's still the closest thing i've got to an oshi so the most honest answer is just that legally distinct shioreo isn't super appealing to me. btw, now that i've written this post out, i realize a lot of this ramble isn't even a proper response to what you said and is more me talking to myself.

anyway anyway, part vi has a little bit further yet. i'm running close to the end of my backlog without adding much more cuz i'm working on my wn, but hopefully... maybe... when i get a rhythm going on that... it'll work out. part vi will continue to be a lot of these murder victims. part of me hopes that maybe by the end of part vi, and then later on the full story, these characters will have also endeared a few people. but i'm aware that may not be a super realistic expectation. so mostly just ty for soldiering through, and i hope one way or another the story shifts to really grabbing people's attention back
