Polka was fat there's easy evidence of it from her comedy career before hololive, but it's clear her (and botan for that matter) lost a lot of weight after joining.

I also (this is deep skitzo revealed to me in a dream thing) think that polka being fat was a character choice for her comedy career (she was very much Boke) and Japanese audiences are much more receptive of Boke comedians being fat, like how western audiences prefer fat physical comedians.
