This is very reminiscent of Sirens who have that sort of control over passing sailors by luring and driving them to ruin. If we were the make the connection - singing, sirens, seafarers, ocean, Atlantis, you can start to see potential for some sort of conflict. We can't throw out the possibility that between these powerful cryptids, an epic battle MAY have taken place. It can also be noted that Gura is also known for her singing, and each would be well matched to hold their own, perhaps only walking away with a broken horn or couple of tail stitches.
