n April 1st, 1982, Charles "Charlie" Hope left Redfish Seafood and Steakhouse after sharing a drink with his uncle and disappeared.

In the days and weeks before Charlie's disappearance, his nearest and dearest observed that something was clearly on his mind.

When April 2nd passed without a phone call or visit from her son, Charlie, on his mother Geraldine's birthday, she realized that something was amiss.

Extensive searches were carried out on land, by boat, and in the air with helicopters. Police investigators, along with Charlie's friends and family, dedicated weeks to scouring the marshes and wooded areas around Hernando County. Unfortunately, their efforts yielded no results.

On May 23rd, 1982, while picking blackberries on their land, Charlie's parents discovered a human skull in the brush.

However, it was later identified as belonging to a female real estate agent, 39-year-old Margo Delimon, who had gone missing in 1981.

It was revealed that Margo had been tragically murdered by serial killer James Winkles.

Eight months after Charlie disappeared, a man clearing an overgrown area with palmettos stumbled upon a stack of neatly folded clothes, located approximately 100 yards away from Charlie's office. His family were pretty sure it was his clothing but never figured out why or how it got there.

Charlie's fate remains unknown; no remains have ever been discovered, and there have been no sightings of him since his disappearance.n April 1st, 1982, Charles "Charlie" Hope left Redfish Seafood and Steakhouse after sharing a drink with his uncle and disappeared.
