When it comes to actual data on this subject, pretty much any dating platform shows that women are much pickier than men and much harsher in their judgement. In fact, women consider the average man below average in looks, they see the world differently than men, whose judgement assumes a normal distribution.
And before people start coping by claiming that the userbase of these platforms was non-representative, there is absolutely no evidence for that. The userbase of dating platforms is typically slightly above average in terms of educational level and income, but other than that it's a good sample of the general populace.
