This is an Amami rabbit, the only known wild rabbit with black fur. It's also called a living fossil because it's ancestors in Asia all died out, and only the ones on some tiny Japanese islands still exist. Apparently they have a special relationship with a species parasitic plants and spread their seeds around the island.
