since the day will be dead for the most part, I'll repost the updated lore I remade on /vtwbg/. Picrel is the position the country currently has. Whoever wants to help rewrite some things can help.

Hoshiyomia (Suisei general) updated lore/description:

>one of the oldest nations on /vt/world
>naval nation heavily helped by their position
>they guide themselves by looking at the stars, one of the few nations that do that
>creators of the widely used sextants
>known traders across all the Western seas
>isolationists but maintain good relationship with the bordering countries
>peaceful nation with a very strong army and an unrivaled, until now, float
>big lighthouse on an islet far away from the bay
>the lighthouse is a landmark for travelers from the Far West
>when there's a comet in the sky, the lighthouse's light becomes blueish
>during the night, a voice can be heard the closer you come to the lighthouse. Some say that it's Suisei, a special kind of comet, herself welcoming travelers
>the sight of this comet in particular calm the citizens' mood and whenever this comet can't be seen in a long time, they start fighting among themselves
>the fights are quickly forgotten by the next day when they remember that they are under the same dark sky, waiting for the comet to appear
>observatories were built all across the nation to try and calculate the comet's next coming
>the observatories are used for many reasons among the hoshiyomis
>some to watch the comet from afar
>some to help discuss the comet's peculiarities
>some even crave the comet's beauty on its own
>however, the comet itself is still far away and only shines its light when it suddenly appears
>hoshiyomis still try to calculate the comet's next coming, to no avail
