They're esports-focused but that doesn't mean every stream has to be apex/valorant/CS. that would indeed kinda suck. I wouldn't say they're 100% variety streamers either but, there will be some variety if JP is anything to go on. maybe I'd wager even more variety considering the West doesn't have that autistic obsession with a mid game like Apex that Japan does and its girls may indeed wind up goofing around in minecraft or something if that brings much-better numbers/income. If you want proof you could either check /#/ or cover’s IPO graph. There’s a sharp drop in overseas viewership from July until February and the graph they have mimics it but solely on en side. You would think Gura’s return is what did it but she streamed more in October alone than the entire year of 2023 so it wasn’t that. It was either holofes or the insane growth of JP that increased the overseas viewership.

Girls like Haachama need to take it easy on the crazy streamer circus bullshit. People can only take so much spectacle before they either get bored of it or cant bother feeling like that every day of their life. Viewers need some calm relaxing nothing streams where the girls just eat food and mull over small talk directly with chat. Or with a simple game like minecraft where they take it easy and just build or explore. And maybe Haachama does this, but they would only be in japanese and so her english streams and ones promoted are all crazy streams. Her EOP viewers are left with 90% psycho streams with a calm stream sprinkled in few and far between. Leaving many unable to follow her and be excited for the next stream because they dont know what theyll be getting when they tune in.
To a lesser degree girls like Ame and Ina sort of have a few problems with this method of thinking as well. Ina never does any exciting streams, so her fans are left wanting for what awesome things Ina could bring to the table. For a while now Ame only wanted to do big event streams. Whether she realizes it or not luckily now shes been doing some more calm streams with her Amedly and the apex streams. Which is a far better mix of content. But im afraid she doesnt see it and its just because shes been a potato lately.

Kenmochi is a zatsudan streamer through and through. It's probably why he can't stream every day. Dude doesn't stream games like Apex or minecraft. He just plays the occasional kusoge or something like Slither.io.

Ayame used to grind Apex and PUBG and she played FOTM games like MHR and Fall Guys. Her technical difficulties have basically reduced her stream count to 3-4 a month so all her streams are recently are either karaoke streams, celebration streams or zatsus about the celebration streams.

I haven't actually done proper numberfagging, it's all based off of my memory since I catch nearly every one of her streams (except recent Apexes) but it seems that the occasional /hlg/ numberfag seem to agree

I actually think she kind of fucked up her stride with the recent milestones because she immediately joined a tournament after hitting 1 million and did a shitload of delays and cancels to really ward off potential new fans. I'm not making any concrete claims, but I think it's a solid theory. Her views have still went up aside from Apex streams, so it's a moderate success. If only she just got a proper grip on her scheduling and she could pop off like crazy after her birthday

That's why I'm questioning her decision to replace a stream after 2 "mini-delays" and one postpone with Apex when she knows herself that she will get to enjoy her favorite pastime for 3 days in a row. I mean, if she really really really just didn't want to do play Minecraft, I guess that's fine but... It just really gives off a bad impression of her motivation and interests in her job. She knows she gets to have an extremely chill week with her streaming part of things because she can just play her favorite game and not even acknowledge that people are watching, just enjoying her favorite game. 4 days of just Apex and then guest commentating. Is she really THAT uninterested in doing anything else that she HAS to sacrifice a non-apex stream one day before the tournament with an Apex, just to get one day more? After seeing the same pattern so many times, it just seems so worrying because I don't know anymore if she actually enjoys what she does or has to half-force streams. Why would she have to constantly delay various activities for several days in a row before actually deliviring if she was passionate or interested in it? It feels so sour having a stream you've been waiting for after 2-4 delays in a row and Matsuri being all like "という事で... let's just get this shit done that i was gonna do a week ago" Call me a schizo if you want, but after seeing the same thing happen so many times, sometimes it really feels like she isn't interested at all depending on the stream. I want her to chase her dreams and do what she's passionate about but if she has lost all her interests and motivations aside from Apex then it'd be saddening to know how one-note she's become.

But if her being strong-minded means that she joins as many tournaments as she wants and plays as much Apex as she wants (so a full week to two out of every month), which has been the trend for many months, then she is actively alienating the majority of her audience often and basically tells them to fuck off if they don't like it, she absolutely is not sorry. I don't get how you could come to the conclusion that she feels bad for playing too much Apex when she has no intention of stopping or changing the amount she puts into the game or taking into consideration what the majority of her audience thinks. Well, she takes the feedback into consideration but comes to the conclusion that "fuck those guys I'll do what I want" and plays more. But as I said, she shouldn't be sorry either because this would be a part of her "doing my own thing" mentality which you too said you admire about her. And I agree that it's a good mentality to have, because normally she has several things she's passionate about so one week out of a month for a tournament isn't too bad, because after the tournament she'd have plenty of other interesting projects and contents for a wider audience. Though as I said in my earlier paragraph, her motivations have been brought into question with recent times and if we hit a point where only energy for Apex is left then unfortunately for her there won't be more than a couple hundred desperate gachikois left as well
