Did you ever hear the tragedy of Hololive vSinger IryS the Hope? I thought not. It’s not a story that the clip watchers will tell you. It’s a HoloEN legend. After Hololive Myth graced us with their presence ushering a new era of vtubing, there was clamors for more vtubers. Who should follow was IryS the Hope descending from up high and crashing through the floor. But she was by her lonesome without a gen of her own but that was the least of her problems. She was hideously disfigured with a model that did not fit in the image of Hololive. She was an aberation of sorts and people questioned her creator’s decision and artistic sense. They tried to cope with saying she was a dork but she was more like a common gacha roll you’d find in any chinese game. Skin dark and light at the same time that you thought she was the reincarnation of Michael Jackson. She trudged along and Council came into the picture taking away her light. In fact, she used light to hide her darken skin that it became a rumor until proven true when a Council member Bae the Rat of Chaos shown brighter like she was on the surface of the sun. IryS hated her looks over time as her followers dwindled and it seemed all hope was lost until something changed.

Sana the Eternal was no longer eternal and would depart to the gacha cloud and artist alleys in the sky. A void in the Council was open and she was daring and willing to take it. This was when CouncilRyS was formed. She formed familial and romantic bonds with the rat. She embraced CGDCT and embraced her fondness of pon-ness. A match made mating press of love that even Takamori would even envy. She would grow stronger with this as more miracles would come her way. She would be granted a redesign that would give her the lighter complexion she so desired and fit within the image of her Hololive senpais. She’d get that long delayed outfit to wear. An anniversary where she would sell a most specatular ring. She’d get her 3D showcase where she’d flop around like a fish and do sexy princess poses while singing oh so well despite what people may have said about her views. And then, in eternal lovelock with Bae hold hands on stream as they announce the 3D showcase of Council and a special collab and all seemed right with the world. Who knew tragedy would stike in a form of an evil deal. And evil deal with the devil that commands Blizzard and Activision on their broken game products in the form of a tournament with holostars. Overwatch 2 the most derrided game for broken promises and just not really beinga good game. It was rated poorly the steam denizens and trounced by HoloCure in no time flat. Why IryS chose to take this deal was never clear but the ramifications were immense. The unicorns tried to cope with the words of the bird Lui that they will not talk to each other but the true unicorns knew that all was lost. IryS the Hope lived a rough a tragic life until she came unto Hololive and it seems even though she still faced many obstacles with many glimpses of miracles to keep her along the way, Hope is but a fleeting thing and what lies after is only despair.

Sad isn’t it? Almost as said as Rushia the Necromancer. Oh, you haven’t heard that one? I might tell that story but for another time.

Thanks to your encouragement I started with my Nihongo learning journey!
DAY 14: I've learned Katakana characters with "k" sound, so カ、キ、ク、ケ、コ and 5 of that "muddied" sounds: ガ、ギ、グ、ゲ、ゴ。I also practiced all Hiragana characters and combinations with all fonts (except that last one that is too weird) and today got 491/500. I'm learning Katakana faster and easier than Hiragana, probably cause I already know all the "sounds" just need to memorize new characters.
Terraria time! It will be interesting to see if anyone would join them. CouncilRys Anniversary is 3h after they start, so I don't think anyone from Council & IRyS will be playing Terraria tonight, plus does that maybe mean they are hard capped to 3h of playing? That leaves Myth. One more observation: if they had 2 PCs I think this would be a good game where both Fuwawa and Mococo could play. Maybe in the future, but I'm not sure Terraria is something they'd be willing to dedicate time to.

I can see them doing the showcases 2 per week sort of like myth after their anniversary. The individual anni are likely gonna be something separate from the 3D showcase. She's probably just busy for the last week and catch up on any recordings she missed when she was out sick.

Keep in mind that HoloX couldn’t get someone to 1M subs in a year either. I can’t remember if Ollie hit the mark before or after ID2’s anniversary, but if it’s the latter, then Kobo’s the only post-Myth girl to do it.

Rise Council song mention. That finally crossed 1 million recently just short of 1 year anniversary since it released of the 1st Council anniversary. I think we can expect the 3D announcement in the 2nd Council anniversary. it makes sense to do it after bringing them to Japan like how they did for Myth preparing for the Concert. A-chan really had trouble saying choreography.

I'll defend gen 6, they have provided and created more event than gen5 in their fewers years existence than than nepolabo.
Koyori mogged them in hard work, collabs and event, her koyo24 was pretty great, Laplus is a dud so I can give you that.She failed as a leader always get sick and you can pretty much never count on her for anything she skipped their year anniversary concert and wasnt present to help koyori in her koyo24 even though she promised.
Sakamata is the superchat vtuber of Hololive after rushia left,she's a merch monster too and she sing pretty well
Iroha got hate a lot for a time after her debut so she's pretty reserved but even she recently made the attenpt at an event with in minecraft robbers game and it was fun for a first time hope she gain more confidence.
Lui is actually a good socializer she can mingle with pretty much anyone in hololiveJp and her overd song is a banger.

Comparing them to councilrys is an insult they are the least impactful of the new generation after Id2 in hololive.
ID3 and holox brought a good amount of new eyes to the company but those two in particular weren't able to do that.
I would argue gen5 is in the sane boat too since myth was way more popular and They where the one carrying at first but I Digress.

The point is that I can name a contribution that holox brought to hololive ,cant say the same for council.
Irys sub growth is dead in the water when the even this unreliable fuck laplus is at 1million,debuted after her and got her subs nuked when irys didn't.Even her songs have no legs she suck at marketing them.
Mumei is always sick so she cant stream.
Sana was a wasted spot, seriously who decided to hire this one? She didn't even last a year.
Fauna is a good a reliable entertainer she doesn't like being at the front much but at least she did holoween.
Bae is weird She has ambition but all of her project don't bring the result amount to much so I guess it's a skill issue.
Kronii is like laplus a dud she had everything going for her and threw it in the garbage.
Sex design, sex voice and I'll not even talk about the boys collabs it started earlier sound like she doesn't give a fuck and has the work ethic of someone who doesn't give a shit.

What DID they do anyway?
Myth wasn't famous only because they were first (other than Gura and her singing talent), they all contributed to the whole of Hololive in their own ways.
Ina probably least of all since all she did was provide a niche, and considering EN VTubing was basically 3 people back then, she got numbers for that.
Gura was essentially a HoloJP style chuuba that spoke EN, had a siren-tier singing voice (still unsurpassed in terms of pure SOUL) and was well versed in EN memes, but other than her unique existence and niche - which, again, was easier to spread when there wasn't any competition around - didn't really do much else in terms of projects herself for her first year.

All 3 of the rest had several contributions in terms of content -

> Mori reaching out to indies and non-VTuber spaces to spread the Hololive name (some took exception to this, but her collabs did contribute to getting more fans at the peak of the pandemic).

And that's just in their first year. Which ended with a banger of an anniversary with 3D smol models and Ina getting emotional about wanting to meet everyone after the pandemic, kicking off her story about being a hug collector, which persists TO THIS DAY.

What did Tempus do this past year?
> A Cover sponsored group orisong, no contribution from their end other than their voices
> A TTRPG project that had a grand total of ONE stream before it became a pre-recorded series.
> Vesper playing some unique games that no one in HoloEN was playing.

Sure they filled some niches perhaps, but keep in mind EN VTubing is much bigger right now.
Their niches are competitive, and none of their niches are unique enough that THEY are the sole providers of it.
So they needed to have something, ANYTHING that was unique about themselves to stand out.
It's one year in, and they have had absolutely FUCK ALL so far. They haven't even tried to copy some of the things that the JP homos have done to give an EN experience of that.

So, once again, what did Tempus even do for the past year that they've been active?

Sure, they claim they already had hired 6 of them before tempiss debuted, and thus had no choice but to debut 2 of them later, but that really sounds like an excuse, since if they really wanted too, Cover could easily afford to cancel the contract if it turned out tempiss was a huge flop from the very beginning

Basically Council had deputed in August of 2021, so there wasn't really that same feeling of "Holy fuck Covid has screwed them out of their 3D and they've been waiting forever for" feeling that Myth (and ID1) had, so there was never really a "need" for it
When they were in the first "Full branch" VRchat collab for Halloween of 2021, Ame commissioned them a bunch of silly joke models, which was fine and they wind up using for Christmas's VRchat collab as well
That following year after Sana had announced their graudated they decided they wanted to a do a more "serious" VRchat collab (ala Myth's 1st anniversary), they never had their own "map" like Myth did or Walfie models either, but Sana did the design for their Beeg Smol models which you could understand, has a lot of sentimental value being used for the last ever full Council collab
