Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't new gen reveals literally always surprise, non-teased drops at high noon JST on holojp (and later en/id) twitter? Why are people thinking we'll get a gen announcement just because it's a (paid) concert?

Holomems aren't just anime streamers like the rest of the vtubing industry, the idol side of things guarantees 6 figures even for the ID girls. Additionally with the EN concert it's almost a sure thing that all the EN girls are making more this fiscal year than last year.

No, what WILL happen is that going forward, branches of HoloPro will no longer exist. EN, ID, HP, HoloStars, all under 1 single banner. Uproar dropping close to ID3 was just the previous policy of debuting Holostars gens close to Hololive ones when they understood that they shouldn't chase for a new market in detriment of the main branch. Either way yeah, they could just drop ID4 close to other birthdays/anniversaries but with the new "no overlap" rule things will get weird, especially when the ID branch streams around the same time as the JP one. As for when they'll debut actually debut I doubt they'll come out before an EN3 because Connect the World is THE place to announce a new EN gen, and while they should debut earlier to build up to the concert the chances of that happening are currently very low due to Cover's stupidity but not having any kind of news for such a big event would be asylum-levels of mental retardation.

We know for sure they were in negotiations with a big talent for a while. This talents contract only expired this month. But I suspect the reason en3 did not debut last year was because there was some serious issue with the selected talents.
But it's also possible that holo thought a male gen would be as popular as a female gen based off of luxiems (heavily bot driven) success. Duped by Tazumi buttering up investors with huge CCV numbers, holo attempted to broach this market quickly in order to not completely cede the entire field to Niji. This might explain why holo pushed out 8 talents in a very short timetable.
It's also probable that it's a mix of both of these things. But everything we know today is that at least one major talent has graduated last week and is very likely to be the next holo gen. Cover has also put out a statement saying that they will expand holo en and id this fiscal year, so before march.
We also know that holo en and id have a concert in 2 months which would be a perfect time to announce a new gen.
But we will just have to see. You should expect holoen3 soon though. Certainly before August so it can have an effect on Covers fiscal year.

They pushed Tempus 2 sooner than they did anything for EN or ID and that actually hurt their overall audience with 3 of them becoming 3views almost instantly after debut and now even some of the Tempus 1 are suffering this, and it makes sense to shill the auditions for HoloEN if they were actually having troubles finding 5 girls to fit whatever the fuck designs they have. The last point also makes no fucking sense because if they are corpos they would've graduated a long time ago since most do not allow their talents to audition to other agencies, and why the fuck it would take that long for them to finish their indie activities? And while you're right that no one will ever find an answer to these questions none of your propositions make any fucking sense, with the most likely considering everything Cover did in the last year or so being them wanting to push Holostars hard to the Hololive audience and failing miserably. Uproar were the new debuts announced during last year's HoloExpo when ID3 dropped out of nowhere like 3 or 4 days after that weekend while the dudes had to wait for almost 2 weeks for it. Tempus 1 had the aforementioned isolated debuts and were the fist HoloPro gen to have a debut orisong and the first (and seemingly last) to have an official NijiEN style (I don't know if they do this for NijiJP) watchalong on HoloLIVE EN's official channel. Then there was the overlap ban between all branches of HoloPro that up until now only affected Uproar's 3D and Tempus 2 debuts, with the former failing to beat Roberu's 3D that was overlapping with Aqua's first master climb and the latter having less viewers than Axel's debut, not to mention their debuts happened during early afternoon hours JST on a fucking Sunday, which is a timeslot many HoloJP members like to use. And to top it all off there was the collab portion of the New Years concert and none of the Holostars who appeared to an audience of 180k+ viewers on Hololive's streams got anything out of it. I don't know if it can get more obvious than that, but apparently all of this were just coincidences that have no relation to the fact that there were no new Hololive debuts in over a year.

HololiveEN's account announced that some ID are taking part in the EN concert in LA and Kiara implied that there were more announcements regarding the concert. Is there any chance that Fubuki and a few more JP members will join the concert too or are her projects completely unrelated? Also, why does she like late night Overcooked so much?

Why didn't ID get a concert? I don't get why Cover is playing favorites with EN.

There is honestly some merit to the complaints, because despite the high number of collabs, 20 of them are from people that anons /here/ don't want to watch : Kiara, Mori, Kronii and Bae.
The rest is just 9 collabs, around 2 a month, for the entirety of 2023 so far. And most of them were off-collabs as well, special events that won't be repeated for a long while.
And there ARE girls who don't really collab with the rest of EN on their channel at all.
e.g. Amelia, Gura, Irys, Fauna, Kronii and Ina all have less than 3 collabs on their channel for the 1st quarter of this year.

Gura especially is guilty of this, because the last collab that was on her channel was an Amongus collab from 7 fucking months ago (https://youtu.be/-TPkX7tLj3Q).).
It explains why chumbuds never watch other holos even when Gura is on break, those that sub to Gura alone (about 4M) never even see the other girls appearing on her own channel.

So if she's on a break for too long, they just fucking leave.
Ame has this issue as well, with just one big group collab on her channel this year.

However, those outside of /here/ that don't hate any of the Holos, can still watch the 21 additional collabs that are no-go for anons /here/ and enjoy them as is, along with the extra Tempus collabs.
These are probably the people who keep telling you to just "enjoy the existing girls".
But they would also be the types to never buy merch, especially if there's something as small as "shipping" blocking their way. Fans that just watch things because "I am entertained" but are fine with not paying for anything.

In the end, I think this anon >>48229899 had the right of it, a lot of the EN fanbase /here/ seem to have cut themselves off from the majority of collab content because they do not like the people involved, or are people that just watch their oshi out of habit and so small things like shipping prices can stop them from buying merch, because they're not really THAT into her.

EN3 if it ever comes out will help for a month or two, but unless they're stellar entertainers and people that can improve the overall group chemistry by dragging their senpais into collabs, these problems will continue to persist.

There’s no proof en3 will be the next debut unless nobody is being debuted until October. June is impossible because that would leave only 2 months for auditions as they need 1 month for team building. They weren’t auditioning before February or they’d have made fauna shut up about wanting new members since it would give it away. July is Irys and Tempiss anniversary. August-September is the rest of en, gen 3 I believe, and another. Holding off debuts until October would be 15 or so months without girls and 8 months without debut at all. This means the next debut is May June or July. I already said why En3 is impossible which leaves HoloNa(7), ID4(ollie was asking stars), or Tempuke. If they listen to ollie ID4 for sure.

Stars were delegated to watchalong before and now were doing tours. They even let Tempiss do tours something myth council nor ID has done. There’s definitely going to be an announcement after holosummer because holocity/gen 5 concert, Bjourney, and holoconnect is in the same month but before it. Announcement of Tempiss 3D debut would fit for the most shilled and most popular gen. Makes sense that stars would be involved. It ends in august so debut announcement is unlikely.

Has Cover explained why EN is getting a concert, but ID isn't? It can't just be because ID3 doesn't have 3D. Cover could easily fast-track it, considering the gen's overwhelming popularity.
