I'm worried the new girls are going to be a bit too over-designed

I feel like all the biggest chuubas have rather simple, almost mascot-like designs (Suisei/Gura/Sora/Miko/Pekora/Marine/etc)

It's pretty rare for the chuubas with really complex designs to exceed expectations (The only one I can think of off the top of my head is iRys)

The bigger a branch gets to more useless and insignificant gens become in the long run, like a good % of JP didn't even have a proper branch starting out. Miko, Sora, Roboco, Azki, Suisei, Mio, Okayu and Korone were all irregular debuts, the Dev Is shit also exists. If you want to make any narratives from them being only 4 and debuting "so close" to Advent (which is just regular JP pace pre Gokisei) they're probably leftovers from the Advent recruitment process. It's not weird for Cover to keep promising talents around even if they're not actively streaming. NePoLaBo debuted in August 2022, but Lamy said they had formally agreed to being Gen5 before Holofes 1 even happened on January 2020. They probably just wanted to give Advent a little time to settle in and now that they're going full throttle with EN (Advent 3D + Second EN live) a new gen is great to generate even more hype

Let's be real hololive took a massive W in getting rid of her. Homo enablers like Mel are a danger to the brand and I'm on board with the idea of graduating or terminating more troublesome chuubas like her.

Everyone else like Hololive are forced to adapt at the end. You can see this clearly on the fact that Sora, Miko, and Robocco were 3D since their early days.
