As for the numbers assigned to the evidence,

... the thing is this. Let's say these numbers represent the probability of each symbol being intentionally masonic *if it were the only masonic-seeming symbol occuring in the game*. But you get quite a bunch of quite masonic-seeming symbols in the game, and this should bump these numbers up even for the "weak" evidence.

So let's say that in isolation the numbers for the "green sulphurous smoke" and the "liquid mercury" in the "chtnonic underground cave" level would be 0.2, 0.4 and 0.3 respectively, they just look like random stuff although the three of them occurring together does vaguely suggest that they are intentional symbols.

But if you consider the constellation of rather overtly masonic symbols throughout the rest of the game, these numbers get bumped up significantly. We probably really are talking "sulphur", "mercury" and "infernal cave" here. I'll say the numbers are now 6.8, 7.2 and 7.9. Their symbolism has emerged rather clearly in light of the other symbols. I mean yes some of them may be coincidental, the leve designer just thought green would be a cool color for smoke. Sure. But that's not all that likely anymore.

These "numbers" in my posts are completely subjective of course and if I were to think more rigorously about it I would probably have to adjust them quite a bit, I'm just giving an outline of how I think one should think about this kind of stuff.

Anyway that's it, that's my perspective. Now feel free to call me a retarded faggot. Bless your hearts.

Alright, I'll restate my case.

Let's say we assign a 1 to 10 number to each "evidence" presented in the thread, representing the probability of it being intentionally a masonic-related symbol.

Now the thing is this. If these were isolated coincidences, if the only masonic-looking symbol in the game were the "sun within checkerboard" one or the "unfinished pyramid" one, than the likelihood of it being a mere coincidence would be worth pondering.

But no. We get a great deal of quite masonic-seeming symbols, one after the other, and this in a game that does not contain that many symbols to begin with. With each new symbol the probability of it *all* being intentional rises significantly - one might even say that it rises exponentially.

Now if these symbols were occurring as collectable objects in Katamari Damacy, the probability of it all being intentionally masonic would lower quite a bit, given the abundance of collectable objects in the game. If alongside these symbols we also had symbols of other religious and spiritual traditions as collectable objects (as sacrilegious as that sounds), that probability would lower even more.

So there is, too, the matter of taxonomies or categories: to what category do the symbols in question belong? Are they general religious symbols or do they seem to belong to a specific religious tradition? If the latter, then the probability of it all not being a mere coincidence, of it all not being just some random stuff, rises significantly again. We don't get just the sun. We get sun, checkerboard, red carpet, owl, pyramid without capstone, all within a relatively short span of time.

But hey, I might be wrong. I guess I'm just clumsily joining a bunch of "dots" with a big old crayon like a mad man and thinking they form some kind of "picture." Yeah that must be it.

I'm not trying to come across like some killjoy fire and brimstone guy here. I'm not saying playing video games is sinful or whatever. I won't stop playing Mario because of this shit.
