>Have you scanned anything else?
Some minor things but nothing as large as these.
>Do you have an archive internet account?
Nope. We briefly talked about submitting to archive.org in an earlier thread but I never got around doing it.

>>6575293
>That's good to know. You did God's work scanning those. Can't thank you enough!
It was a fun project all around and I really liked doing it. I did all of the work on a very beefy computer and a very high grade scanner I had at my then-workplace. Sadly I've switched jobs since and no longer have access to either so that's a shame.

>are you the original scanbro?
Yep! I browse /vr/ every day but only ever kept namefagging when it was relevant.

Man. That's really, really beautiful.

VERY NICE
Keep up the good work! Love what you have so far.

Broken spines and over 9001 hours of lost time probably aren't worth it. We should appreciate what we have - it is indeed really awesome.

This is extremely inspiring!! Such great effort, good job!
Followed. Will probably do a guest submission with my Softbank Guide of Yoshi's Island sometime.
Godspeed.

I think it boils down to personal preference. I think the layout is perfect - in my opinion, the best design is as little design as possible. Besides, it'll get a lot busier when it's filled to the brim with content.

I don't know that much about Tumblr and how it allows you to customize the pages, but every time I've tried it's been a pain. The layout editor panel only allows you to make CSS changes and some pseudo-HTML, and even though I've seen really cool page layouts, I've come to the conclusion that it's better to just leave them be.

That's a fantastic collection!
I can't confirm this, but at least instagram.com/superfamicomguy 's Instagram's photos (the older ones where he takes photos of the boxes alone) are taken with a phone camera no less - as long as the lighting is fine, you should get great results.
Of course if you have a bad phone, this is a moot point.

That would be extremely cool.
Sharing such niché content is a thankless job but it's always super interesting to see stuff you wouldn't necessarily see anywhere else - see http://www.suppermariobroth.com/ (real url but really a Tumblr in disguise)
Precisely the reason I'd suggest a Tumblr - it allows you to have other people submit stuff to the blog too and is a fantastic content management system.

Nevermind, found it. There's some other cool stuff in the book despite being a low-quality scan.

This is what Nintendo encouraged you to do.

Are there scans of that particular book available? I absolutely adore the style.

Someone posted high resolution original artwork of Super Mario World to /vr/ once upon a time. I can't remember which thread it was or when, but I remember a piece where Mario was running on butter bridge, escaping the motorsaws. Haven't seen it (or the others) anywhere since. No idea where the art came from, either.

SMW truly had the best art.

You're right, there was a long time between starting the project and finishing it, but it was mostly because the first volume was in subpar condition and I had to fix all the shit the previous owner had done to the pages in Photoshop, not to mention I had a not-so-good computer back then.
The second volume was a much easier job because it's in such pristine condition and now I have a Mac Pro - it took me maybe a week.
>PSD version
Yes - they exists for both scans, but I really don't feel like uploading them right now because of their huge size.

>>3360508
At least the Japanese seem to be very careful with their media. Most SFC games I've bought and the second volume were in extraordinary condition, so it's safe to say that Japan preserves the media physically, while we preserve them digitally.

Exactly like the Japanese SMW manual!
The cover of either APE guide didn't fit to my scanner either, but scanning in parts and stitching the pieces together in Photoshop makes the seams unnoticeable.
Here's a pic of my SMWj manual. Now that you mention it, I'll scan this next.

If they're on eBay for a fair price and they're not ultra rare, I'd be delighted to buy, disbind and scan them.
Scanning these APE guides was a really interesting project and I learned a ton in during the process. Thanks to all involved.

>3 months inactivity and they're gone
Holy shit dude
I had no idea. This is worrying.
Dropbox preserves them for much longer least, but they have an inactivity meter too. And the bandwidth issues.

Think archive.org would accept them?
