The success of Mania entirely relies on nostalgia. I love this game but I also understand people comparing it to a glorified romhack.

What pleases me the most, as a fan of the classic hedgehog, is that Mania appears like a real Saturn Sonic game. It's like you're going back in time, to the point SEGA didn't fuck the Saturn, to an alternate timeline where SEGA isn't full of dicks.

2017 was a strange year, cause there was Forces too, and I appreciated the game. But I won't talk about the OST being longer than the game...

Indeed, I always thought unleashing Super Sonic with a jump was pretty stupid.

Since you got 50 rings, what do you do? No jump till the boss? Pretty hard for a one-button platformer... or rush hoping you'll get more rings than you lose. Great.

S3 was a little less crappy, adding the transformation to a double-jump. But since double-jump creates the instashield... fucked again.

I recently replayed all the 2D saga, in chronological order. I'm a huge fan and just wanted to see if I was able to perform higher scores.
I'm ashamed to be stuck in the final boss of 3D. But I spent good moments, musics were really cool, and the graphics were superb.

3&K, 2-CD, 1, 3D

3&K because it's just epicness from Angel Island to Doomsday, epic score, epic levels, Knuckles, new shields, etc...

2 cause it's near perfect, best sprites and level variety, and CD cause personal...

3D is last, of course, but not because it's the worst, just cause it's not as good as the others...
