Tell that to every SNES game on my PSP running like shit, even on fast settings, and it being the most common complaint.

No it doesn't. That's the biggest complaint with PSP, it emulates SNES like shit.

>We CAN. Why SHOULD we? Do you also think that books have no purpose now that we have movies?
Books are a completely different medium than movies. This isn't about switching or changing mediums, this is advancing in the same medium. Your comparison is shit. We should because if we don't continue improving things will grow stale. If you're one of those people who believe we should stay with the retro look, you're a fool who probably didn't grow up with games.
>Wrong. More detail = less imagination demanded from the viewer.
That's what I said. Read that again.
>Yes, that's why the best RPG of the last 7 years is an indie game.
Debatable, and depends on what you consider to be an "indie developer". I consider them to be small, budget constrained teams who do their best to push boundaries and enhance the medium to the best of their abilities. A good example of this would be DOOM. A terrible example of this would be Shitcraft.

There are of course a few good titles out there from indie developers, Bastion, Amnesia, Cube World, Rogue Legacy as there always has to be exceptions to the norm. But for the most part, it's a huge grove of bad ideas and disappointment. Minecraft, Meat Boy, Shoot Robots, And yet it moves, the examples are practically endless.

It all comes down to a difference in challenge. Did they make a challenging game, or a baby-mode readyforyouriphone hunk of boring?

Just get one of those chinese android devices instead. The PSP can't emulate SNES worth shit, nor N64 or anything later than that.
It's fine if you are on a tight budget and can get one out of a pawn shop for 20 bucks, but only because you don't have a choice.

Because at the standard we are at now, we can visualize characters down to individual pores. In a visual sense, there is no more room for imagination because it's all rendered in striking detail.

And don't you dare bring up "indie games" because those are a blight on the industry.

>>899406
That was the style, nothing more. If you look at the same characters, same design, hell same damn poses and everything in a different artstyle it would look drastically different.

And the time for imagination on visuals has long since passed.

Hate to ruin your fun, but FF has always been like that. There was just more room for imagination with the older games, so we imagined them based on a handful of pixels and their dialogue / actions.

Actually, outside of the shoulders which holds life support and whatnot if I recall it's pretty slimming. That artist clearly took many liberties with the size.

Most of the characters in this thread have solid development. Unlike the non-/vr/ game you mentioned.

Yeah, it was pretty below par when compared to asian kung-fu flicks at the time.
But MK had more boobies.

I think it's a bad movie and has always been highly popular as a classic bad cross-medium movie. I also think it's growing in popularity again thanks to the retro boom in the industry, and is largely seen as a classic, good movie.
Which is due to people being silly and thinking all retro anything is good. Which is silly.

120hrz would be overkill for emulation and unnecessary.

Most likely a problem with the controller or the drivers. I had this problem once, and I just had to wipe the controller drivers and give them a fresh install, and things worked just fine.

Still totally down to help record some videos. Would be within my skill to do trailer-like short videos for older games.

Personal preference is difference than technical opinion.
I think OOT is overall a better game than MM, but I prefer MM because personal opinion.

Are you one of those people who cannot tell the difference?

I don't think you can really determine the best of a franchise when that franchise spans both 2D and 3D. Both styles are similar, but still completely different beasts and it's very hard to compare them properly.

The best 2D Zelda is either Link's Awakening or Zelda 2.
The best 3D Zelda is probably OOT, but I prefer MM.
The worst is the CD-i ones, I don't think anyone is gonna argue this outside of the dipshits who think Zelda 2 is bad.

Also, as a whole both the 2D and 3D games are solid. Both have had excellent titles, and shitty titles. As far as personal preference goes, I would go with 3D because it allows for more variation in gameplay.
