Guys, my controller stopped working. How do I get it to play again?

Pic related, my set up last night.

I happened to like the SEGA version.

Conan for the NES

>> No.2431360 [View]

Super Mario Bros III
Great balance, and fair difficulty on any level.

Rocket Knight Adventure
Fantastic music, and Sparkster handles so well

Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master
Some of the best controls I've ever played with. I attempt to speed run this game every so often.

Super Metroid
One of the most cloned games of all time. Unfolds at a great pace

Sonic 3
Best Sonic, hands down. All that exploration, and flying as Tails helped mix it up.

>dont pay more than 50$ for a used one unless its mint or with alot of pherials

Definitely needed that knowledge.

Would Console, Controller, and Memory Card bundle around or less than $100 be acceptable?

Would it be reliable to get a Dreamcast from eBay or Amazon? I have a few games for it (bought a complete copy of Power Stone 2 for $7 and a few other games).

Both are strong possibilities. NES has been giving issues before, and we considered replacing the connector.

>>2299730
I'm glad I posted that image. Will see what I can do to it.

I have a picture of the front of it as well. Not sure if you can see anything, but there it is regardless.

I never considered the chip. I kept thinking it was the contacts. Will investigate.

Thanks. I'll be sure to read my dictionary after I fix the problem at hand. :)

I have no idea what a dirty one looks like. You're saying that those circuit boards that I posted are clean? Noted, no further need to clean them then.

>If you've still got issues you've probably got a fucked maskrom.
Unfamiliar with that term. Could you explain?
Also, you're probably right about the Brasso. Roommate advised that.

The last time I posted a thread, it was about a Super Ghouls and Ghost cartridge. I can't remember if Brasso was suggested back then, but if it was it may have been considered overkill as well.

Went over it gently with the toothbrush and 91% Alcohol. Didn't want to press too hard to avoid damaging equipment.

It says that it is for brass, and it was used to clean quite a few of the NES games. They all work just fine, but this was the first time that I had used it to clean it.

It just seems to do what I described above, crash after a while.

I know that it's a little tough to see from here, but I'm doing what I can.

If you can see it in the bottom right, there is a slight discoloration around the connectors. It was like that for majority of that side of the board, and those areas were sticky.

Noted for future reference. I didn't know, hence why I asked. Thanks.

Attempted. It's difficult for me to explain, it just looked off. Perhaps it may have been glue, but I have no idea. Will get a picture up. One moment.

Hi again, /vr/. I come to you with yet another cartridge issue.

I bought (pic related) from a seller on eBay. After a clean that pulled off quite a bit of black stuff, I popped in the cartridge and notice a few things:
>name entry screen using squares for blank spaces
>sounds that seem out of place
>music that sounds off
>game crashes shortly after I control 'dungeon crawler' Mike

I took it apart to clean some more and tried again, same result. Circuits appear to be soddered correctly, but the board feels sticky.

Does anybody have a suggestion as to what the possible problem could be?

My copy came in yesterday and I beat it on normal. I'm going to try it again on the highest difficulty. This game is great, and I want to get both versions of Sparkster in order to have played them all.

There is a particular piece of armor that you are supposed to wear. Once you get it, then you can walk through the spikes with no trouble.

>all the way from /adv/? What do you guys do there?

Mostly help those that can't accept their own fates. I can try to use an analogy here.

>I just bought a copy of Metalstorm and I love it
>I spend a lot of time with it
>It's all good, but it got really tough
>I ended up getting drunk and breaking it
>It felt good, but I really miss it
>Why do I have to like the things that I can't have?

This is /adv/ in a nutshell now. With the amount of retro games I now have access to, I may try to browse /vr/ a lot more. Thanks for the assist, Anons. OP out.

The brass cleaner most certainly pulled up quite a bit of dirty and grime, but I'm not sure if all of it came out. I'll try to see if we can't clean it better later on, but I'm positive that a hardware error will grind our progress to a halt. Not really sure if that can be fixed on our level.
