Ok so I think I know why I had such a bad experience playing this game after reading through this thread. I had no idea what "Shamans" were or how to use them. I had no idea how to play these hunting and fishing mini games, I just kept running in circles trying to catch the animals and they would run away. I didn't know what my home base was for except for holding my other party members, but from what people are saying you could have a cook or item crafter in your house? I vaguely remember this but didn't want to waste my items combining them together.

But still with all of that the main reasons I didn't like the game were the high random encounter rate and the lack of overworld fast travel as well as needing to find a shrine to swap my party members.

Maybe I'll give it another go in a couple years

I did this on an emulator and save stated before the boss and couldn't kill him so I restarted my state and killed myself and i won. Kind of shitty but whatever I still love the game and play it every now and again

I do agree with this in King of Kong but those guys were acting like total dicks from a typical highchool sitcom. And when you watch Chasing Ghosts Beyond the Arcade you realize he actually is an arrogant prick but just not so much as the guy who hates him and is the record holder for missile command.
Half of the people in these documentaries were faggots or just weirdos. They did have cool techniques they showed off for certain games and how they mastered them but they still took them way too seriously. What I understood from watching these was that Billy and his close friends and his enemy (that missile guy) are all living in the past and holding onto these records to define their lives while all the other guys are just like, yeah whatever, games are fun sometimes but I'm in my 50's now so that's cool.

I was really good at bsing my way through online games like this. When Halo 2 came out me and my friend used a recording device and would record people and we pretended to be a handicapped kid and when they insulted us we would talk normal and be like "yeah we are actually mods looking for abusive players, we have this recording of you insulting us" they would freak out and start saying sorry. The funniest one was we got a message after telling him he will be banned at midnight and he sent "dude i'm really about that stuff, i was just trying to impress my friends.....you're really cool"

I've tried the past two weeks to casually get past the second level but fuck the hippo tail jumping and the ostrich jumping. This level is terrible

It has a few glitches where you can climb walls to get over certain parts and some door zips but you only use 1 of the door zips in the run I do and 1 wall jump in the ice world to get over doing the swimming part of the level. It's more rewarding knowing that you are running at full speed and just bouncing like crazy off of enemies, it just looks so cool. When I show my friends the first level they are blown away because you beat it in like 5 seconds.

Thanks for reminding me. I have the demo disc that had Toy Story on it and 102 Dalmatians and always meant to buy it. I had such a blast playing the demos of those games.

That looks like the same squaresoft logo that appears when every game is started that they made. My guess is Final Fantasy or Mario rpg

I highly suggest you look up a speedrun video for this game (not a TAS video) and you will be eager to try it and have a blast replaying this game. I felt as though each world was it's own world and not connected to the others in any way and I do agree with the airships being too slow. The levels are short but in the later areas like worlds 6 and 7 you can spend a lot more time trying to beat the levels and even doing them as fast as possible still takes a little bit of time.

I am definitely biased towards this game because I started speed running it last year (casually doing attempts at any % no warps) but it is definitely my favourite mario game and it has even more charm when you play it with a friend or even when you play it on the SNES.

Bowsers castle as a frog? You bet!

Man, that harvest moon. I'm an adult now and can't justify spending that much cash on a game but I would love to play it on console since I have only played it on emulator back in my teen years. Such a great fucking game. So simple so you can explore everything in the game without spending too much time on it. I would love to find a copy. Same goes for EVO but I don't know that it's worth the money either. It was fun on the emulator as well but I don't think I could spend more than 60$ on it

people say we spend too much time on our phones and playing games and starting at screens in general. BUT instead of staring at a newspaper I can read the newspaper on my phone, instead of going to a computer to search for something I can use my phone to use the internet. Instead of watching sports on TV I can watch them on my phone. I'm not just texting for 5 hours a day I'm actually doing other things.

It does feel good to get out of the house and play sports but the same thing happened in every household when we were kids. "You can only play so many hours a day, your eyes will fall out blah blah blah" but we know this isn't true.
