AES or in the more practical realm a consolized MVS and a multicart

I slap on a fake ass low class British accent and start ranting about Jet Set Willy

I have two copies of the board game consolidated into the better box of the two to make a much-more-than-complete copy. I had a third one that I regret harvesting the minis and dungeon dressing from and trashing the board and box. I also have Electronic Talking Mystery Mansion and wouldn't you know it my son asked just this week to play Mall Madness because of Thundercats after I've passed up many copies including one as recently as last year.

The guy just lived in a poor area. They're always half a generation behind on consoles.

It will be better, yes but not nearly as good as if you fed it RGB

I've actually had people specifically ask me how I even managed to have certain combinations of "'chievos". It can lead to some good conversations about applying old school gameplay sensibilities to modern games and how some hold up to them while others fall flat.

Objectively this or the 5200 controller. The Intellivision controller is shockingly light construction, it doesn't even have a PCB but somehow they manage to hold up and stay more reliable than 5200 controllers, probably because the 5200 controllers are analog. Colecovision controllers are about equally shitty but at least they had a common first party replacement controller.

You'll be glad you did. They have a certain retro quality that is all their own - especially 2 & 3

I don't know what to tell you, Anon. The game itself expects your playthroughs to take under 90 minutes.

You really shouldn't have bedn playing Silent Hill when you were too young to form coherent memories, Anon. It's fucked up.

That game is alright and the "Penny Racers" version of CQ1 we got was alright but 2 and 3 have deeper (but still light) rpg elements I thoroughly enjoy

I was going to suggest the mini classics reissue from 1998 but I see it's also become shockingly expensive. Just get a mini classic version of like Cement Factory unless you know for a fact you'll play an LCD game. The Zelda is neat but there's no damn way it's worth $500. I got it for $2 at a yard sale and it even still had the plastic film on it.

Discrete displays look very different. Piezos sound different. It's not worth what people pay since these prices these days have to be more about "clout" than authenticity - but authenticity IS worth SOMETHING, Anon.

Actually I find consoles with integrated displays to have some of the highest levels of authentic texture.

Just Sega GT but you probably already know about that.

You know what I love? Runabout. Also has Racing Lagoon gotten translated yet?

I try to play all games like that it drives my younger friends nuts. I've beaten Control and I haven't even unlocked two of the psi powers at all

I used GameFAQs in 1998. I even printed out a FAQ for MKII really tiny in probably 1993 and took it to the arcade with me. I'm not sure where I would have gotten it if the site wasn't launched until November 95 but it was definitely when I was still in high school.

You probably naturally wanted to have an organic experience, fully contained within the game. You were literally the kind of kid these Zoomers fail to even understand could exist.

You would rather I watch maybe reality TV? I basically watch only cartoons when I do watch TV alone so take it up with >>>/co/. It's getting to the point my 7 year old asks me why I only like cartoons since he doesn't seem to want to watch scifi/fantasy movies and he's too young for crime movies.

See that's the kind of memory cementing you get from games that give you a true sense of accomplishment

>> No.7067396 [View]

Oh, and you also can't just leave it running day in and day out either to just pick up and interact with when you're bored or out gets your attention because he needs like 50x as much food while the game is on than while it's off. That also kind of broke the illusion for me.

The most frustrating thing is not being able to marathon it unless you change your system clock. It's made to be played a small to moderate amount every day over the course of months
