Got to 64, and holy shit I found an exploit!

If you alternate the A button and D-pad, you'll repeatedly latch on to a given enemy. Each time you latch on it instantly inflates by one sprite, so you can take out an enemy in almost a third of the time. This is really helping me, I just beat a ten-enemy level without losing a life.
