the port isn't using any of the code from the leak, lol, it's using a decompilation of the ROM, which is pretty much the same thing but it's easier to understand for coders

no one else has really done anything like that with anything we've gotten because it would be illegal. the only reason the PC port of Mario 64 is around is because it's NOT using nintendo's original source code.

I do think it's cool how they were able to do this, fake or not

because why would they use an out of date model of luigi when they have a perfectly new model of mario?

and the timeline doesn't match up.

luigi was scrapped in february of 1996. they were still going with the name "Nintendo Ultra 64" by then.

the 64DD BIOS uses the name "Nintendo 64" and the N64 N-cube. The Luigi model wouldn't be in anything that uses that.

the development dates of mario 64 and the 64DD bios. by the time luigi was scrapped they were still going with the name "ultra 64" so luigi wouldn't exist with something that has the final N64 logo and name

The 64DD wouldn't have had a Luigi version of the BIOS, the timeline doesn't match up

it's not anything real, but it is pretty cool.

it's the 64DD BIOS with mario replaced with luigi.

maybe not a leak of the exact magnitude of the gigaleak, but we will probably get something really good in the near future

i like nintendo because of how fun their games feel. mario doesn't need a groundbreaking story or graphics that rival any other game. it's just fun. that's what nintendo's deal is. when i play a game, i expect to enjoy it. they deliver.

Probably manual screenshots. They're in the same directory as those HQ renders that were also found.

There's also another early build that has everything in the final EXCEPT the coin icon. They were really holding out on that old coin texture, huh?

Here's one of them. They're not very high quality, but I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing can upscale it or something.

People have probably already found these, but there are early screenshots of Mario 64 in the iQue leak.

I'm going to grab them all, convert them to PNG via GIMP, and then put them all in one folder.

also, both the bullies and motos are apparently referenced in the same areas. i think the bullies were built upon motos's code.
what confuses me is why the level lethal lava land is constantly called "motos" as well instead of firebubble or whatever

i looked through the ique leak because i'm bored as shit and found a list of sounds in mario 64. these are the ones that are only in the US/EU/Shindou versions, I believe. Guess this confirms what Mario is saying is "So long-a, Bowser!"

got no idea what "poin" is
