>MSX.
Ah, thanks.

>That orange gamepad came as a pack-in with a horrible PC game.
Yeah, that's true, though I have to shamefully admit that I don't remember the title (I think it was a submarine game or some other type of simulation). I only kept the pad, which isn't that great to play with, but has a nice gimmick feature that enables you to use it as a mouse.

Oh, and my most recent addition, a Hori pad for the PS1.

Bort, 9pin, 9pin

That's it for now. Wish I could show more, but a large chunk of my collection (mostly Gameport, NES and Mega Drive stuff) is currently boxed away in the cellar.

Alright. Apologies in advance if any of the following are in fact Playstation 2 controllers and therefore technically not retro, but some of them were bought without the box, making it difficult to identify the intended system.

Anyway, from top left to bottom right: PS1, PS1, PS1, Gameport, USB, PS1

Since this thread is still alive, would anyone care for some more photos of my collection? I don't have any on this PC, but I could take some.

I love Ashen's spontaneity in the "sofa" videos, but most of the scripted stuff he's been involved with has fallen short so far.

It's an official controller for the Mega PC, a collaboration between Sega and Amstrad. It was basically an Amstrad PC that could also play Mega Drive games.

I've always felt like it was much more precise, though this may very well be simply due to familiarity. I still play most games with the joystick screwed on.

I have a few other gamepads that have the exact same gimmick, by the way, a few for PC and one for the SNES. Some of them have much better (read: convex) and thicker sticks, but they usually suck in some other regard, which is why I ultimately prefer the Gravis pad.

I've never been much of a rage gamer, but there was this one time I kept losing to the AI in Clayfighters, which got me so incredibly mad that I eventually put the cartridge in a little box, taped it shut and buried it in the garden.

>You don't find the recessed buttons even a little annoying when chording them, for example during a b-dash jump in SMB on NES?
Honestly, I've never had any issues with the buttons. Pretty much my only (minor) complaint is the fact that the top of that screw-on joystick is unnecessarily deeply concave, which irritates my thumb after a while.

Oh, I see. Can't really agree with you, though. I love the Gravis PC pad and I still use it for DOS games and most of my simpler emulation needs, like NES, PCE, Mega Drive, etc., basically anything that doesn't require shoulder buttons.

However, I'm not a huge fan of those later models (the ones that imitated the Playstation design). I think that disc-shaped d-pad really does become uncomfortable when it's on a controller with handles.

And finally, three modern ones, just for the giggles.
