lads. if you're looking for a new challenge. I have the perfect combo for you.

brutal doom / project brutality
ultimate doom visor
ultimate custom doom

brutal doom / project brutality new enemy features as you likely already know make enemies a lot more intelligent and give them more options for attack like for example imps can hunt you by crawling across the ceiling, zombiemen can throw grenades and what not. also gives you extra movement options like double tap to roll / dodge or double jump or ledge climb. and fast melee / kick for single target cc if a pinky gets too close

UDV gives you a realistic visor HUD with damage indicators and much more. also gives you some nice options to add and customise fog into the game and to also make the overall ambient light much darker like in doom 3 or some shit.

UCD enables you to change default values like player damage taken, and enemy health.

so basically atm I'm playing KDITD on lowest difficulty and its absolutely fucking terrifying. imps can tear me to shreads easily if they spot me before I spot them, especially if they stalk me on the ceiling. pinkies are almost always terrifying, especially the variants that can't be kicked / cc'd as easily. if you don't take cover when fighting even a single zombieman and play tactically you end up losing a shit ton of hp which fucks you over for the rest of the map. its 100% a new beast and as I keep repeating, makes the game terrifying, also really makes you live up to the moniker of "too angry to die" because it will PISS you the fuck off but you'll refuse to give up.

holy shit lads.

so I'm playing project brutality 3.0, with UDV fog + lighting for the dark, gloomy doom 3 lighting experience, and with ultimate custom doom. extra monster health, extra damage taken by monsters, on the lowest difficulty so fewer enemy spawns. and its a whole other beast entirely. pure horror experience. even zombiemen can kill you in a few seconds if you get too cocky, even at over 100 hp + armour. so you have to be tactical, know your positioning, keep an eye on the motion sensor map so you don't get flanked, etc etc etc. its way more immersive now.

any wads out there that increase enemy threat like increased hp + dmg? just looking for a basic wad that increases default values or something so I can play on lowest difficulty but still have a challenge. looking to do a horror-style playthrough with extreme low light, this'll obviously be ruined with hoards of monsters so lowest difficulty is best for enemy numbers immersion

and a friendly reminder, you can mix and match wads. so you have an infinite amount of map packs you can play with project brutality / brutal doom. I just finished playing the blood campaign on brutal doom.

a few years ago when I used to play doom on ye olde doomsday engine I remember I used to regularly test monster wads on a specific map pack but I can't remember for the life of me what it was.

basically. it was the same map over and over again but each map had nothing but a single enemy type in it. masses of the same enemy in a single room and once you killed them all you moved onto the next map, the next enemy type being in that map, so on and so forth.

anyone remember anything like this? even if its not exactly what I'm talking about, anything similar around?

gldefs, specifically nukage 1,2,3 are just "packs" of textures used to create the gif like moving images in-game, right?

so the resources ID'd as nukage, in gldefs are just the names of the merged packs of textures listed under the same IDs in animdefs?

ok so, I have it running with PB now. but when I add a 3rd wad. it reverts again. this doesn't happen with other texture packs. I just tried. LTP 2.0 liquid texture pack and it works across the board. no matter how many wads I have running at the same time.
