People who don't know about retrogate products.

RetroUSB/Zone needs to step up their game by dropping prices, improving compatibility and ease of use... or simply give up.

SD2SNES is hands down the best SNES flashcart. It is better than the Powerpak from Retrozone by miles.

That's not to say Retrozone don't make quality products, because they do and I'm a happy owner of several of their carts and accessories.

I don't think I'd do it to any of mine, but I think GOOD LOOKING paint jobs and mods on old consoles can be really cool and sort of personalize your console to yourself.

Was playing Wrecking Crew '98 earlier and switched over to the original for a little bit.

Wario Blast is the one I have the most fond memories of, followed by the Bomberman for N64 (I can't remember which exactly), but for mechanics I think the best one I played was Super Bomberman 2

Super Metroid is a bit easier to play the first time because the map is built in.

the wallpaper on my laptop actually scroll through metroid backgrounds right now, and that's one of them

It can be short if you're skilled in the game, but it will probably be fairly lengthy for your first time.

And I would say even though it's the original, Metroid's design was so well done that it still holds up significantly well today, even in comparison to newer 2D entries. I wouldn't even recommend Zero Mission, the remake, over it. I would recommend playing both because they are different experiences.

The fact we can have such large gaps in age and still have intelligent discussion about classic gaming is what makes this board great though. Oftentimes some of the older guys inform younger guys about stuff they don't know, and younger guys will provide a civil, unbiased perspective on games before their time, usually with positive outcome.

This beautiful game.

Metroid was literally the first video game I ever played. My map was so huge, it folded out like a poster you'd hang on the wall.

my dad would help draw it for me and write down stuff I told him to even though he had literally zero interest in the game. thanks, dad.

I agree, but my main concern is whether the physics are there, and in the video they look right.

I actually meant to write a guide on this game back on /v/'s wiki years ago and never got around to it.
