Similar thing happened to me.
Went to a yard sale Saturday looking for older games, I asked the lady if she had any, she said yeah I just sold them a minutes before I got there.

She was selling almost everything for 25-50 cents so it kinda bummed me out. She said it was round 20 best selling NES games, so that kinda lightened the blow. She then told me she has a bunch of SNES carts she's selling next week, he grandmother interrupts and said yeah I'm selling mine too. Long story short, I gave her my phone number and will be buying every SNES game for somewhere around 50cents a pop.

Guess the moral of the story is ya win some ya lose some, never hurts to ask.
