>truly a very American game.
I thought you ESL retards believed Americans were evil, and they want everyone to be evil? Why can't you make up your minds?

That's because of the rampant fear of pedophilia.

DN3D maps were barely designed with DM in mind. Some of them OBJECTIVELY don't work from a DM stand-point and had to be re-worked.

>I really wanted to do love this, but the level design just isn't on par with classic FPS design

Which is strange, considering the No Rest For the Living expansion that was officially released for DOOM 2 WAS somewhat on par with classic FPS design.

Of if the game designers were shit-heads and didn't properly balance it.

I get bored if I have to become a life-less NEET in order to "git gud" at a video game. Better do nothing but play video games all day then die a kissless virgin!

Much, much, much worse. Each section in 2 is just an endless fetch quest.

>>3073498
>the levels

That should be on both "The Good" and "The Bad", since the actual level design is really good for its engine.

>>3075985

The design of the game is meant to really test players, since some of the ways you're required to go in order to advance are borderline secrets, but finally finding that last item or pressing that last switch is so rewarding.

I prefer it over Heretic which is just a shameless Doom reskin (though still entertaining) and a lot of the levels in Hexen are technically more impressive than Heretic.

Is this in reference to the fact that PlayStation games often felt like they were about to fall apart?

It's funny, I just got done uninstalling the Ultimate Quake patch so I could play Quake in vanilla mode again.

The pixilation adds to the overall dark and grungy feel of Quake, and taking that away takes apart some of the atmosphere.

Frogger.

There was an entire episode dedicated to him trying to preserve his Frogger score on an arcade cabinet.

>it's easier/cheaper to make 3D models and then animate them.

That's actually a lie that's completely made up, but whatever.

The real reason is that with sprites, you don't have the ability to show off your tech as much. 3D models are more "impressive" visually, typically, unless you go all out with your sprites, like in the Golden Age of gaming back in the 80's/90's
