oh, I also wanted to ask people! How are the FFIII and IV HD remakes? I was thinking about buying them, especially III since I never played it, but they look like Bravely Default and I loved the graphics for that era so I feel a little cold on it.

I was born in '95, playstation was my first console.
My grandma bought it for my seventh birthday, and she bought me Legend of Mana, an X-Men fighter, A Bug's Life, Army-Men 3DO, and Spyro 2.
Legend of Mana and Spyro 2 remain two of my favorite games ever.

idk i'm pretty done with games that try to give you choices and multiple routes. focus on gameplay, and then build a story around it. make the story as complicated as you want I guess, but have tact, you know? Final Fantasy games go way overboard with their plot, which wouldn't be so stupid, if they treated it with more subtlety.

doesn't a long intricate story get in the way of immersing the player? idk, my favorite games have large worlds and lore and stuff, but it's always more subtle in a way, that I don't feel like my player has their own personality or part in the larger story, and that they're more a viewer, as I am, of something huge that's already gone on/is going on.

best 2d dungeon is probably ice dungeon in A Link to the Past. 3d is either Water Temple in Ocarina or a tie between Spirit and Earth in Windwaker.

nope. battle system was among my favorite. I don't even like turn based verymuch. I find it discourages exploration because of how tedious it is, and it's a lot more convoluted, which I just personally don't like, because it's much more about what you can do in how many turns, etc, than it is about skill or combo performance, a la dark souls or dmc.

also I just wanna say that XII has the most beautiful shit in it. Just the logo alone is my favorite of the series and it gets me excited to play it again. The Judges were all really cool and I loved the level design and art direction. Setting was amazing. The story felt particular to the series. Just...the main character though. Game definitely felt a little rushed.
