I agree with you, but its difficulty turns off many people. Especially when multiplayer is involved.

to add to my point. Its not a terrible port, but it sure as fuck isn't worth the price.

alpha transparencies. Saturn couldn't do them natively so the devs had to resort to some sorta workaround. Unfortunately whatever workaround they came up with sucked so anytime a sprite pops up that has any level of transparency, it will slow the game to a crawl. Retronaughts did a good review of it a while ago but I can't find it anywhere. Its from like 2006.

It also added a new area of the castle but it was pretty lame and the vampire killer remix that was in there was pretty lame imo. It sounds something like a bad remix off of OC remix.

If it isn't a shooter/fighter, you're pretty much fucked. Most of those games are text heavy.

Also the Saturn port of SoTN is shit. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

I wish they stuck with the original "children" design

PC Engine. Its easy to get your hands on these days through the virtual console and PSP release.

The SNES version isn't bad, it just doesn't stand up to the PC-engine version.

ice-cap zone. Dat song, Dat snowboarding bit.

How easily we all forget that NOTHING was cooler in the mid-late 90s than snowboarding.

I thoroughly enjoyed it back in the day. If you can get it for cheap I would say its worth it.

Also the name of your team is "SCAT".

This fucker right here. I could have bought a car with the money I put into this machine.

Also, although it isn't retro, the Lord of the Rings pinball machine is god-tier

back in the day it was highly regarded as a home brew console. Mainly because it was powerful and fairly easy to get working. Problem is, is most things worked like ass. I got an SNES emulator and a DIVx player working on it, but it never worked very well. It would constantly crash.

Doom, nothing else comes close. I remember playing it for the first time at my friends in I think 93. The first time I played it, my friend and I couldn't get any of the sound working and the resolution was shit, but holy fuck. There was nothing else like it. We played wolfenstein 3d and it blew that out of the water.
