Only superficially. You needed the other to complete both games 100%. As well they were intended to be played with different parties and tactics.

>Go to KB Toys to get one GB game with mom
>Know right away I want Pokemon Blue, already have Red and Yellow.
>Tell mom. She complains that its "the same game"
>I try explaining, she doesn't understand.
>Buys me some shitty Disney game instead.
>14 years later, meet current girlfriend, she has Blue and only Blue.
>Life is complete.

Retro: Super Godzilla for SNES, second transfer pack for N64, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe for GBC.

Non-retro but still old: Jedi Outcast for GC, Wavebird controller, Mario Party 4, Metroid Fusion.

Also, do they show up when being played in a GameBoy Player?

Do the SGB palettes show when playing a Gen1 game through the GB Tower in Pokemon Stadium?

I just used the GB Tower for the first time today with Red and Yellow and Red looks much more vibrant than on my GBC, Yellow looks normal.

Mine wore out and the left shoulder buttons stopped working a few years ago. Yesterday I find it in my closet, open it up, and take an eraser to the contacts on the circuit board. Fucker worked perfectly afterwards.

I am so happy.

Wait, you can use the Magic Eraser on the actual labels without damaging them?

I had my GameCube with a GameBoy Player sitting on my bookshelf for 2 years without being used. I didn't keep a game in it. When I tried to play a game the GBP wouldn't recognize a cartridge. So I took some compressed air and shot it into the cartridge slot and I could see the dust come out. Now I keep a shitty GBA game in it all of the time.

I can see why they advised that.

>> No.464317 [View]

>>464152
I suppose if you did that, then yeah I could see why you'd leave the cartridge in the system.

So /vr/, do you leave a cartridge in the system or do you always take it out?

I've always been in the habit of removing games from the system when I am done playing with it. Even today I always take the disk out of my PS3 when I am done for the day.

The only exception is my GameBoys, I think it is because the Gameboys do not have a protective door that keeps dust out of the slots.

Mine does both of those but is also hugely into Fallout, Mass Effect, and Skyrim on the 360.

Have you even played all of those games? I don't see the point of collecting games if they aren't going to get played.

I have the Assassin's Creed III American flag in my room, but that is far as my patriotism goes.

I've heard this as well. Apparently Nintendo didn't want to advertise the NES as a gaming console because of the ongoing Video Game Crash. They advertised it as (the name suggests) and entertainment system.

Semi-related question, where there any official carts that used the entire space of the NES cart or were larger than Famicom chips?

This game is fucking amazing. It is the only NES game that I have the box to.

On the bright side there is an adapter that lets you use a GameCube controller with an N64.

Is the turbo functionality on the ProPad useful in any games whatsoever?

So I just bought a SNES and it came with two working controllers, both of which are the ProPads.

Now I am not familiar with the SNES at all, somehow I totally skipped it as a kid. Is the original controller something worth buying? Is it better than the ProPad? Are there differences in the d-pad or buttons that would make the original controller work better like other systems with third party controllers?

I really don't know, the SNES is completely new to me.

Too bad there are still too many scalpers and resellers who artificially inflate prices on games because idiot hipsters don't know what the fuck they are doing when they buy retro.

I collect to play, not sit on my shelf to just look at. People who do are morons, video games are an interactive art and you aren't doing much interacting when the game is sealed inside a 10 cent plastic bubble.

Why the fuck do we need a grading agency for video games anyway?

I mean anyone who is reasonable familiar with games could tell:

A) If it works.
B) If the labels are intact.
C) If the plastic is yellowed/damaged.

It isn't fucking rocket science.

Is $40 too much to pay for Super Mario 64, Pokemon Snap, and Starfox 64? PriceCharting shows that it is pretty much on par with fair market value.

What is that blue box with Pokeballs on it?
