Yeah eBay is awful.
A pair of two nonworking GBAs without the back covers popped up for 110 AUD on my bus ride home, and I was umming-and-uuhing about buying them because GST and shipping from the US (where the seller was) would make it 150 AUD, but anyway by the time I got home 30 minutes later to order them they'd been sniped.

Is that why there's none to buy? People are buying them all up to fix/mod?
God damn it. All I need is like, an SP with the top ripped off, I was wondering why it was so hard when there should be millions of the things out there.

>want to buy an original-style GBA to compare it to my SP, and maybe use it as a more ergonomic original controller with my Gamecube/GBI
>ludicrously overpriced in Australia and the secondhand stores don't accept them anymore, so eBay is basically my only option
>"fuck it, maybe I can get a broken one and try fixing it- that could be fun"
>cheapest 'for parts' unit is 90 AUD (65 USD)
What the fuck

How does FPGA handle enhancements?
Say for example, you want to play a SNES title on a 4K monitor/television. Would a SNES FPGA be able to output at that resolution, or would you be relying on something else to scale the signal?
Also some games experience framedrops. Can FPGA attack with sufficient force that you no longer encounter slowdown that's part of the game, like if you're playing Earthbound and too many enemies appear on the screen? Could a GameBoy FPGA render SGB-exclusive colour palettes/borders?

Yeah maybe I'll pick up a Vita if I want something for portable emulation. That thing has a wonderful D-Pad anyway.
But it's a shame Nintendo is retarded and didn't turn the Nintendo Switch Online service into a Netflix-esque library of their entire back catalogue because that would have saved me the trouble.

Yoshi's Island is a Yoshi game, not Mario.

Probably SMB3 on All-Stars or SMB2 on All-Stars. Generally mario is graded like so:
SMB3>SMS>SMB2LL(AS)>>>SMW>64>>>>>SMB2USA>>>SMB>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Donkey Kong (Arcade)>>Mario Bros. (Arcade)
>>5862210
Not a mario game.

I just bought a N64 without any hookups.
This, OEM controller, Horipad, or one of those $30 adapter things I've seen on eBay that let you connect a Game Cube controller?

While I typically like to play on the original hardware as much as I can, I like to use the Retro Freak to translate my famicom/super famicom games or as a lazy way to play games in HD. That being said stay away from the Retron 5... every Hyperkin console I've bought ends up with bent snes/nes pins.
