They are not as hard on the whole. If you play them in order, you'll learn how to tackle them. Maybe 4 requires more effort than the others, I haven't finished it yet, myself.
I'm playing the Llylgamyn Saga remakes on PS1. It's a lot more convenient than the keyboard driven affair on the PC versions. While it's a Japanese release, it's mostly in English, except the manual, or the help pages that you can look up separately. It can have automapping, if you'd like an easier time, but keep in mind that half the difficulty in these games is figuring out the dungeon layouts, and there are specific traps that mess with your perception and mapping,

It's ironic that the Japanese developed Llygamyn Saga remake of Wiz4 is a much better game than original piece of ass Mccintosh Wiz4 ever hoped to be. But because the game is slightly less bullshit than the original try hard fans will act like that's somehow a lesser port.
