So I was trying to adjust the potentiometer in my PS2 and some of the ribbons fell out; after a painstaking effort to get them back in place (the controller ribbon had to be taped down), the PS2 will no longer boot. The lights still work and my TV screen flashes when I turn it on, but I just get a black screen. Any idea what the problem could be? Does it sound like my PS2 is totally broken or is there just some connection problem. IDK if all the ribbons have to be connected for the PS2 to boot, but if so I can go back and double check everything.

Yes, I know, it's not retro but there's nowhere else I could discuss this on the chan and actually get a response. Anyways, thanks for your help guys!

I have a Dreamcast on the way that's hopefully a model 1. I've been trying to find hardmod alternatives in the case that it's a model 2, but I can't find a definitive list of what mods can work on a model 2. So far I know the GD USB board is incompatible and the external SD adapter requires a MIL-CD bootdisc so that wouldn't work on a 2 either.

Anyone know what my options are? Does IDE cable/IDE Reborn work for model 2's?
