I have some high resolution pictures I want to share with you but the largest I can upload is 4mb. These uncompressed pngs are over 7mb each and even compressed jpg are 5mb but I don't want to show you those since the compression really makes the image look terrible. Here is half of one of the pngs. Just zoom in on her eye holy shit it's really good. I can't believe how good these came out. I managed to pull these out of the Dreamcast version of Gunbird 2 and I also used a 4k resolution so that's why it's so big but I think they came out amazing. Even on the wallpaper board the largest I can post is 6mb. Is there any board on here that I can upload 7-10mb?

I've never heard of catbox but apparently they expire after like 3 days. Maybe I can use justpasteit since I think those last forever, or at least longer than 3 days that's for sure. Anyway I'm going to do some research but I've attached a png of her eye so you can see the ridiculous detail. I'm really surprised these came out of a Dreamcast game from the year 2000.

Hey that's great. I think I'm going to post them in there, but not right now. Don't worry I'll make a post on this board first before I upload them on /hr/ so you'll know when it's started. Thanks for the tip.

Catbox should keep them indefinitely, Litterbox is a project of theirs that is for temporary storage

I don't entirely understand this post. You got these pics from the Dreamcast version of Gunbird 2, but exactly where did you get them? Did you scan the manuals? ripped the CGs from the game?
>and I also used a 4k resolution
Did you use an AI upscaler on that pic? Because that would explain that bizarre pixel filter the image has when zoomed in. (IMO doesn't look good) I would prefer the version without wierdo filters.

There's an image gallery in the Dreamcast version. The Dreamcast used linear, bilinear and trilinear filtering and you literally can't see the difference between any of them at this high resolution. Because the resolution is so high (I used a 4k monitor to take screenshots) you can only see the difference between them if you zoom in really close. So I used xSal to smooth out the pixels when you zoom in.

Just post the originals so everyone who likes filters can filter them to their own preferences.

Absolutely not you're just one of those turbo autists that hate filters because you have a mental illness that forces you to think about shit even though you literally can't tell the difference. Also it's not a simple process and repeating it for every single one would double the work. I'm going to post four pictures right now. This is the first one and it's like you say the "original" aka nearest neighbor. See it? Yeah it makes your eyes bleed because of how pixelated it is.

Ok now this one is using the original filter the Dreamcast used aka bilinear filtering. Oh but that's not ORIGINAL OMG STAAAP. Yeah I think some games used trilinear but I'm showing you bilinear because a lot of dreamcast and ps2 games used this filter.

Zoom in on the bilinear and you will see how much better it is than nearest. Now this one here is xSal which is even better. This improves bilinear just as much as bilinear improves nearest neighbor. Zoom in on her eye and see for yourself.

And now this is the holy grail right here. This is xSal with a hexagonal dot mask. You can't even see the difference between these unless you zoom in (except for nearest, that shit is super pixelated). And it's obvious that xSal is the best, I just added a dot mask because most people used a crt to play the Dreamcast.

What a strange thread

>> No.10793418

That's not the original. You're creating unnecessary work for people because they'll have to undo your nearest neighbor filtering before adding their own.

Ahh I finally understand. You got in the gallery mode in the game, zoomed in to the max and then took a screenshot in an emulator running at 4k with filters on.
...You do know that the CGs are ripped and uploaded at Spriters Resource right?
The original png that's in the Dreamcast disc unfiltered in all it's glory without the need for wierd stuff.
