ive got utterly borked playstation X it cant take any disc i dont just wannt fix it though cause we all know X games are spensive

So whats the cheapest way I can do this without buying THE ode cause thats expensive for what it is is there really no goofy mod way i can do this like how you can solder a hard drive into the dreamcast

buy a new/used disc drive (the ID is written on it) and install (It's easy, just attaching cables)

You can buy the xStation mod kit or just buy one pre-modded, though at that rate there are cheaper ways to emulate PS1 on your TV. You might literally not need to buy anything at all if you already have a smart TV

Other option is just PS Classic

There's a few other (better?) ODE mods but I'm not as familiar with PS1 modding sadly. But I feel like PS Classic or just straight up emulation is still cheaper
