For the barons not in the hedge fight, there should always be enough cells to take care of them nearby. The turret cyber is warped away into a crusher which kills it and the archviles are not supposed to stand there, I'll try to aggro them earlier so they don't do this, thanks! People kept missing the chair so I added a double switch to drive home the point that's where you needed to go.
I posted a no secrets demo of the map for an earlier version with less ammo, and I still had 30 cells after killing everything in the hedge, including the baron, so I think it's fine if you ration the cells for more important targets, which means I'm not changing the cell drops, to encourage people to find the secrets for more cell ammo if they want them.
As for playing it blind, that's exactly what I wanted to go for (on UV) since I wanted people to learn the map to beat it efficiently, even with no secrets while saveless. It's very possible on no secrets with ammo rationing which is why I was a bit hesitant to add more ammo in the first place. I'm also not moving the SSG, and the non-secret SSG can stay on easy/medium.

What's the best way do to a jump pad/thruster in UDMF?

Minor changes since I'm lazy and didn't feel like doing much.
The sky should be fixed now. Also fixed some trigger linedefs, and added more health in the red key hitscanner fight.
You can still skip most of the final fight by not firing a shot in that area, but doing so no longer lets you to skip fights in the side-areas. I did add a few cacos and lost souls which spawn regardless, to prevent you from cheesing the fight (even more) by hiding in Mado's armpit.

In DS, Plasma and Electric just deal more shield damage. How they affect enemy death and such is entirely up to the monster pack and is not even something I can control in the first place as those require custom monster classes. Different mods can do different things.

With maps it's much easier because we have cacowards, we have doomwiki with a lot of noticeable maps having their own pages, we have idgames where you can just look at recently uploaded wads and it's possible because most wads are "finished" products. And quality wads almost always get attention on doomworld forums.
Meanwhile all these gameplay/graphics mods are always in development, 99.9% of them are not big enough to warrant the wiki page or cacowards mention, they scattered all over the moddb, zdoom forums and dw forums, and zdoom trainwreck is making it even worse.

There's a lot of weird confusion with sector light modes and what closest replicates the original.

it's semi-complicated, maybe a little too complicated to explain concisely, but every time you fire a counter called "PistolShotsFired" goes up from 0 to 14 and a separate counter called "PistolAmmoCount" goes down from 14 to 0
if you try shooting when PistolShotsFired is 14, you instead go to "DryFire", which then goes into Reload
reloading is split into a few different states, first is the normal Reload state which checks to see if PistolAmmoCount is 14 (if it is, it just goes back to Ready because there's no need to reload) and if there is any Clip in your inventory (if there isn't, goes back to Ready because you can't reload anyway)
it then goes into "FillMagazine", which is a 0 tic loop that takes 1 Clip, 1 PistolShotsFired, and adds 1 PistolAmmoCount, it will then check if there's any Clip and then if PistolAmmoCount is 14, if you have no Clip left or if PistolAmmoCount is 14 it goes to "FinishReload"
there's probably a better way to do this but it werks so *shrugs*

I like to do both really. I tend to enjoy a good vanilla run on crispy doom once in a while, I only really do that on Vanilla style wads (Like Freedoom or DTWIDD). Those I rarely hit with gameplay mods and when I do it's usually after I finished them.
Then for harder wads I like throwing some gameplay mods even if I never played them Vanilla before. Some of them just end up feeling like too much of a grind and I tend to drop them fast when I play Vanilla.
One of my greatest, most memorable Doom experience was playing SoD for the first time with Demonsteele.

Started working on a map for Fore/vr/ Alone because I figured this is likely the only chance I'll ever get to do something like this. I have no idea if I'll even finish it in time, despite attempting to speedrun it. Halfway through tracing the image in UDB I came up with the idea to extend the wings of pic rel in Photoshop because the pen is mightier than the linedef and infinitely faster. Don't know if I'll do anything about the lower body. The reference image doesn't give me much hope either cause I'd have to do a LOT of extrapolation. I'm a programmer, not a mapper or artist by any means, so this is likely as far as I'll go just to save on time. Applying some minor creative liberties as well because the image isn't going to translate to Doom geometry too well. Waifu is Akasha Bloodriver from the Rosario+Vampire manga. Disclaimer: I'm not reserving any slots/waifus with this post. This is just a shot in the dark. Maybe I'll finish it in time, maybe I won't.

Posting too much of this MetaDoom map already but i wanted to make sure the custom song and sky were set at the same type, so the linedef using the voodoo doll now sets both in the script.
And to preserve the hole in the ceiling, i got creative with the "intro" of the map and used these red pipey walls going up as if they were red curtins in a theater.

Cheers - wasn't sure if it was losing too much texture but I think it's a bit more readable now.
Hand-made the gib sprite sequence from the death sprite sequence, though, because I couldn't figure out how to separate the different parts of the skeleton from the rigging. Not too much work fortunately.
Now it's just figuring out how I want the monster to act, all the sprite offset bullshit, recording/finding sounds for it, and then testing it in the map.
I'm gonna add something really dumb to it don't kill me

Ported Centurions from Rubicon 2:

Hammerfist goes right through some Brutal enemies. Zombiemen, Shotgunguys, Barons, Archviles, Cyberdemons. Not sure why, if it's a matter of flags, I can't tell which one.

And about Harbinger, I was testing it before and I thought it prevented you from swinging it too much if you got tired, but right now, you can keep swinging even when you're taking damage from high heart rate. Maybe I'm remembering wrong.

And damn, I wanted to use Cut as a DeathType since it bisects enemies at the waist and it looks cool as hell, but I guess adding DeathTypes interferes with soul spawning. Oh well, mostly everything gibs to this anyway.

A small report for the Kodiak, the inventory/shop name is missing a quote ' mark.

Plutonia has been really fun so far. I really like the relatively quick levels and the creative monster usage and ambushes it has. The maps also have those nice touches of decoration to them that while not "doomcute", they add to a sense of location and are more aesthetically pleasing than a lot of Doom 2 maps. If I had to describe Plutonia with one word, it would be "efficient". They make efficient usage of level space and the monsters and the maps have been really fun to do 'saveless' because even when you have to restart the map over, you waste very little time in getting back to the "meat". The Casali brothers are doing a really good level set here.

its a map set in california, it features 3.5 locales/biomes. outside mine (very small), inside mine, rocky hills, and forest.
its ambitious; a large sized map with a decent amount of verticality. it also has a ton of secrets (13 in total)
the combat is boring, there are no interesting fights. the one big fight has the enemies lumped next to a cyberdemon so its easy to get them to infight. plus you get a big bfg gun by this point so you dont even need the infighting. overall the combat not challenging.

if the unpegged textures and shit were fixed i'd give this a 3/5, and if the gameplay was actually good i could give it a 4/5. but as it is, it's 2/5

Never mind, I found the door. It is just so dark in there that you just can't see it if you are not in front of it, and it is one of those fancy revolving doors which show up as normal walls on automap.
Map 6's stealth section is broken. You can use clown costume to get into the office but you can't pick up the key from the desk. It gives you "Unknown script 0" error, so you need to noclip through the door even if you trigger the alarm and kill everyone.

You got me thinking about simpler ways to make an enemy taunt the dead player using mbf21 or decorate. Since enemies always return to their spawn states when all their targets are dead you can put the taunt animation at there, then use a JumpIfTargetInSight check to make sure they skip it if they've never actually seen the target. For some reason that didn't work in zdoom (possibly because it has different treatment of the check provided the target is dead), but it's easy to fix since that standard has an "idle" state for enemies to jump to when all their targets are dead anyway that can easily be appended with an actor replacement. I spent too long making this prove of concept.

I played Ashes Afterglow 1.10 for a bit, and it seems bugged. When I go to Michonne station I can't talk to bartender and Rig is nowhere to be found. Troopers hamper my movement often and move like flies on meth.

I also found a blue key at the Westside section, I assume the game is designed so that I'm supposed to randomly stumble on another section where there's a blue door? Anyway it seems bugged. Also, for some reason my melee isn't working with pistols but it does with shotgun (stock-hit).

TNT's Map29 is good to pistol start on easy and medium, and a chore to pistol start on UV, because the Plasma isn't flagged to spawn on that difficulty, so an entire pool of ammo (which they give you a fucking bunch of, mind), is completely unusable. I just finished The Darkening 2 and I have to say, it's crazy how refreshing playing some older WADs can be after playing so many modern ones.

Mormons are here and there, my parents were good friends with a mormon couple here in a Euro country, but primarily they're in the US, with the strongest concentration being in the state of Utah. Anyway, key differences between Mormons and Jehova's Witnesses is that Mormons can be preachy, but are generally polite in social interactions (rude cunt ones exist, but in my experience they tend to put on a friendly or neutral attitude by default, avoiding friction when there's no point). Sandy's generally jolly and friendly disposition lines up with many others.
JW's aren't really polite at all, they will come knocking on your door and send you anonymous handwritten letters badgering you about their opinion and interpretation of Christ (you can be a hardline conservative Christian of any other denomination, if you're not a JW, you'll be pestered), and they are extremely reluctant to take no for an answer, they behave in a very cult-like fashion and have a weak sense of morals. Back in my hometown, a JW congregation had singled out a home for special needs persons (retards, heavy autists, etc), because they figured it would be easy to convert people with diminished mental capacity who barely have a clue in life and cave easy to pressure. They kept coming back over and over to try to convert retards while the wranglers weren't looking.
You basically have to credibly threaten them with bodily harm to make them back off and leave you alone, because no matter how explicitly angry and disgusted with them that you get otherwise, they think they're morally right in what they're doing, and they'll persist.
I think there's some overlap in a few ideas, both Mormons and JWs are uncomfortable with blood transfusions and organ transplants, at least to an extent. There was also the Polygamy part, which both had, stereotyped to Mormons, though it's a specific sub-denomination which is increasingly rare today and pretty much shunned by the other Mormons.

I think it's genuinely incredibly impressive how he was a complete neophyte to the field of designing levels for first person action shooters, then an incredibly new field, and didn't just demonstrate good concepts and ideas for it with his first draft of E2M6, landing him his job, but that he then made most of E2 and E3 in just 10 weeks of time, and it was GOOD.
A lot of the concepts for dungeons for pen and paper RPGs translate, of course, but it's still applying that shit very competently in a burgeoning medium with little time and no experience. Knife doesn't get stronger. You're right about the alignment, though. Knife is the evil counterpart. As for batteries, the Soul Cube can also recharge them (IIRC it requires L1). Flux batteries self-recharge and their degradation can be fixed by rifts.

It's a mod, mods are free, full stop. There is absolutely a problem with paying for mods. It sets a bad precedent, indicates to corporate vultures that they should restrict use of their IP, and allows bad actors to milk people for cash with nothing but promises.
Not to mention, paying for something you can get for free is generally just bad practice. If the product is worth money, can be legally sold, and the owner wants money for it, they should sell it. Yep, use "Add a non-steam game to my library" to add DoomLauncher to Steam, once you launch the game you can use it. I assume the overlay will be added to any DirectX/OGL/Vulkan game it can be hooked.

You can even have a browser with opened doomwiki page if you want, some adhd zoomer can even run a youtube playtrough on top of the Doom. Sadly doomwiki overlay is not intended for this kind of stuff, so the useless navigation panel on the left takes the precious space. And you can't even zoom-out the content in this browser.
