just a really fun game. it's not deep, doesn't try to be anything strange, has a fun story with some emotional moments - a believable antagonist with a smart and reasonable goal.

there is the wahoo, fun and great music and Lephise not dating older guys.

controls feel great and it's overall very joyful. quirky and weird works for such titles well. dunno what's not to like.

even if you think there are better titles - tha game isn't long, so it's fun for a while

/vr/ specifically, Kirby's Adventure and Kirby Super Star are two good ones. Kirby's Dream Land as well, though that one lacks copy abilities and a loose remake is included in Super Star.
Dream Lands 2, 3 and Kirby 64 are more puzzle-oriented and while you don't need to play them in order, all three feature the same villain faction and share certain elements.
For something more modern, Kirby's Return to Dream Land recently got a remake and that was the first of the current director's style, so it might be worth checking out if you're interested in how modern Kirby is like.

Just finished Klonoa 2. I think it was a little better than Door To Phantomile. Some of the level design was just incredible. The Ishra's Ark level and the Maze Of Memories in particular, not only visually stunning but great puzzles and some non-linearity too.
And the boarding levels were good as a change of pace. Theyre fun to replay a few times to try and 100%.

i mean, yeah, thats the whole point of a good character is that you accentuate and add an element of flash to areas of design that highlight a dynamic in the pose and fashion sense of what your making. the character doesn't even need to be flamboyant either for this to work either. Kratos was definitely designed in mind by a guy who wanted to bring literal highlights to his musculature and colour and if you tried, I guess you could state that its designed to bring out the 'human' element of his anatomy.

I really liked the first two games, but the handheld games just don't hook me like the console ones. Not really a fan of the shorter levels, with every level in an area looking the exact same. The British voices in Beach Volleyball are amazing. They literally made Nahatomb sound like the CAM ON INGURLAND guy. Klonoa sounds like a cheeky urchin and it genuinely suits him - a lot better than Eric Stitt.

At least it appears like they've allowed the Brits to care, I don't think it is available for US fans. Amazon sent me a Pegi rated version and I don't think they have a localized one, so the ransom is set up to fail.
