Imagine believing this shit has "good writing", "good acting", "good gameplay", or "good" anything. Imagine being a grown ass fucking adult playing this garbage and without a shade of irony considering this proof that video games can be art. If my mind wasn't already corrupted by video games I'd think this must be a parody of 1980s action films, but no, this is 100% serious game and the main creative dude behind the original is considered some kind of fucking visionary, genius, messiah, auteur. Justin fucking Christ. I'm surprisde this civilization hasn't fallen yet.

The original MGS is a fun action movie you can play, with lots of memorable characters, quotable lines, good music etc. Admittedly the gamplay in that one is very basic, and pretty much amounts to a kind of mashup of a pac-man maze game and a very basic "find the key" adventure game. The combat is dull and shallow, and not much to speak of.
The later MGS games legitimately have very fun stealth gameplay.
Twin Snakes specifically I would say is more fun than the original, just on the basis that it ported over all of MGS2's mechanical enhancements, but it is kind of fucked design wise, and often far too easy.
If you've literally only played Twin Snakes, go and play 2 or 3, and then get back to me.

What are you talking about? Twin Snakes is fun precisely because it doesn't take any of the source material seriously. If you get the Otacon ending he pratfalls down the cliff and smashes his head against the snowmobile. The Metal Gear games that take themselves way too fucking seriously are 3 and V.

Literally the opposite. Twin Snakes' cutscenes were designed and directed by Ryuhei Kitamura. Kojima wasn't involved with the remake and his name was just slapped on the box.
