I remember playing a lot of shmups when I was younger, with some fond memories for some that were included in Galaxy of Games compilations in from 2002, like Raptor: Call of the Shadows, Nebula Fighter, Demonstar, Drone, and Moon Buggy, along with a bunch of other games. A lot of the games were older than the compilation's release, but they were still tons of fun. Do you all have any old shmups you love? Or any obscure PC/DOS games you remember fondly?

Also, if anyone can help, I'm struggling to remember a shmup that I played around the same time I played the others. Most of the computers I played on were school computers and clones of each other, but one computer had a couple more games than the rest. I'm pretty certain the game I'm looking for isn't on any of the GoG compilations, I could be wrong though. All I remember is it's 2D scrolling, enemies come from the top, you control a weaponized semi-truck, the background is a highway and rocky/sandy brown outside the medians. the road was not very wide, I can't remember enemies, and the graphics were rudimentary. The intro screen was either black or navy/purple (color blind) with sans serif text and potentially a small logo. The music in the background was licensed, had something to do with "hero" or potentially "Save the world", and it may have been Christian, like "Get down" by Audio Adrenaline. Any help would be great.

Everyone is praising Raptor but i honestly can't agree, the movement is too floaty.
Demonstar is my personal favorite.

Raptor was one of the first games I ever played, me and my dad would both sit at the computer and I would shoot (hold control) and he would move. It was so much fun as a little kid. Still a great game now. I used to get really excited about buying new weapons at the shop and seeing the big bosses. Great game that I never see mentioned on here.

Recently I remembered about this shareware shmup that I've played over and over as a little kid.
For a demo game taking up 2-3 floppies it had interesting story, nice graphics and was pretty challenging.

There's something about pic related that I really love. The music is great and the movement is nice and crisp, and the game is kind of brutal in the later stages. There are also lots of weird secrets to find.
