Is there a hack for this yet?

I check every month or so and nope, still nothing.

Why would anyone waste their time cracking this shit?

Don't think so, but I wouldn't be interested in hacking my own Mini 2 anyway, the Mini 1 is better for that.

the roms got dumped. though we have to wait for someone to make an emulator to run the new games as they run on fictional hardware.

Do they run on real hardware? I don't mean the normal games, I mean the modded ones (Space Harrier 1+2, Thunderforce IV, etc...)

>> No.9954767

>>9954763
I highly doubt it because the games were made for fictional hardware more powerful than the genesis.

>> No.9954795

>>9954767
I asked because the Space Harrier mods exhibit a decent amount of flickering which makes me think they have been programmed with hardware limits in mind

>> No.9954807

>>9954795
iirc some of the new games also have encryption for some reason

Well, they used it for Aleste 3 on the GG micro, seems logic. Good thing I already own both MD Minis, then.

>>9954795
They have flickering because they still have to adhear to sprite's per scanline limits. The fictional console they made it for is basically a stock Genesis that has the ability to do sprite scaling. The rest of the hardware is the same.

This is really unfortunate. While adding a handful of SEGA CD games, they simultaneously got rid of the best part about the original Genesis Mini, the ability to add more games. As it stands the Mini 1 is still the superior console for that reason, even if Mini 2 has Sonic CD out of the box.

i still have my og mini, but i fucking hate that you have to rely on hakchi (made by tendos) to mod it and add games. even moreso that i seem to have region locked problems with it ever since i modded the console and it just seems to keep switching around.
never had this much issue with project lunar. i still wonder why it just suddenly stopped because while a bit tedious to set up, never gave me as much trouble.

>> No.9955350

I’ve heard there may or may not be any decent hacks on this because of the software that runs is. I do know a guy who is looking to do his first hack with Sonic 2 by adding an extra stage in Mystic Cave that doesn’t necessarily have a boss fight but you have to take out enemies as they come in within an allotted time, otherwise it cuts to a scene where Robotnik is using one of his weird machines to drill Sonic’s anus.

You hate a hack because it's made by """tendos""""? Did you take your autism medication today? I can't fathom a healthy adult with your mindstate, it is baffling.

>> No.9955408

>>9955364
i wouldn't hate it so much if it wasn't causing so many problems.
is it really that surprising that Project Lunar (a mod made by dedicated segafags) worked better on the SegaMini while it was still active..
"versus" a NES mod by tendos for 'their' Mini that somehow has been giving my SegaMini a lot of issues, when said Mod (hakchi) wasn't designed in mind for the opposing console?

he should pick up a bunch of sonic 2 carts, replace the pcbs with custom ones containing this rom and just leave it in random game or thrift shops or some shit

Meanwhile, progress on the TG-16/CoreGrafx/PC-Engine mini mod continues albeit very slowly. There's still no ETA on when HakchiCE will update with TG-16 support despite being worked on for months. However, once that's sewn up the team plans to tackle Genesis Mini 2 next.

This would be awesome, maybe one day. Most everything works on the ps mini already so I guess I'm covered as far as mini consoles go.
