This controller has suffered the worst out of all retro controllers in the modern age going foward.
>Tiny as fuck to hold for adults
>Replicas/3rd party alternatives have poor to inaccurate stick ranges
>Replacable stick parts are hit or miss, still prone to ware and tear over time
>High quality stick parts that fix the stick grinding are so rare they moght as well be non-existent and have to bow down to scalper prices

No I think the Atari 5800 controller is worse. It was made so cheaply that it's literally impossible to find one still in working condition

what

isnt the tribute64 as close as you can get to a proper range & deadzone?
>Replacable stick parts are hit or miss, still prone to ware and tear over time
i thought the 3d printed replacement ones were decent enough if you take care of them, at least beats the shitty "gamecube-style" analogs
>Replacable stick parts are hit or miss, still prone to ware and tear over time
i forgot steelsticks64 was a thing, i even remember asking the dude about how it feels to play star wars racer with those sticks

Only the wireless editions. The corded ones are more traditional to the Horipads sensitivity of 100 - 110 range.

OP is a midget

fortunately it only has 1 game still worth playing so it really shouldnt be wearing down that much

it would have been perfectly fine without that middle part desu

playing N64 games with a dualshock is anyway better than playing with the original controller and I’m tired of pretending otherwise

the situation is much better than years ago though? many people working on replacement parts nowadays, it's not just steelsticks64 with years-long waitlist anymore. you can actually buy parts if you're just a little patient but it's definitely not the cheapest. something like oudini steel stick + whichever steel bowl you manage to get will probably set you back ~$200. definitely worth it though if you're passionate about the console

I can easily and comfortably reach the A / B buttons with my left thumb. Sometimes I played Zelda left hand only during the boring parts.

What n64 games even use the d-pad?

>> No.9952010

Wetrix, Tetrisphere, most of the FPS games if you're a chad and using dpad for movement + stick for aim

…a midget with huge hands? You might work on your reading comprehension.
Also I’d like to question how small everyone’s hands are here, because mine aren’t particularly big or thick and I agree that the controller is on the small side.

I have two horipads and two tribute64's.
The tribute64's sensitivity is too high. It literally makes shooting down tie fighters on rogue squadron incredibly difficult. Also, it causes movement speed in most games to be incredibly high. The horipad's sensitivity is the same as a regular n64 controller

>> No.9952748

The only bad part about the controller is the stick wearing down, anyone who wants to bitch about anything else is just a retard

>> No.9953431

I never had problems playing with the N64 controller when I was a kid.
