in terms of number of playthroughs or time spent? You could complete Mega Man 8 twenty times and still not reach the playtime of a single RPG so I'm not sure the comparison is fair.

>NES
Double Dragon 2 and Duck Tales 2 (number of playthroughs) however Megami Tensei II probably holds the record for time spent

>Game Boy
Kirby's Dream Land (number of playthrough), Pokémon Blue/Yellow for time spent (easily 1k hours)

>SNES
Castlevania - Dracula X easily, spent more time on this game than on any RPG

>Megadrive
Streets of Rage 2

Final Fantasy VIII, over a 12 playthroughs, easily 800 hours on the game.

It's just what I've been replaying the most in recent times and there are better ways to play the original RE4.
For POR I really like everything about the game gameplay, maps characters, story, music and the JP maniac mode along with the disappointment of recent FE games reinvigorated my interest in the Tellius games. So its been my most played GCN game in recent memory.

Melee, Double Dash, SoulCalibur 2, TimeSplitters 3, CvS 2, Starfox Assault, Tales of Symphonia and the Zelda Collectors disc (all my repeat playthroughs of OoT and MM I prefer playing them with the gamecube controller). Are all up there in terms of playtime as well.

I did play FF9 a few times but not nearly as much as 8. The thing with 8 is that it is filled to the brim with secrets, even after all this time I was still discovering new things every playthrough. FF9 not so much.

I never did a no lvl up of 9 because it seemed pretty boring, however I did find on my own a method to safely beat the Grand Dragons up Gizamaluke's Grotto safely by the start of Disc 2. It involved finding and crafting the right items so that everyone in your team was immune to both poison and electricity, which as a result, meant that Grand Dragons could only kill your characters one at a time, so if you enter the battle with 99 Phoenix Downs it only becomes a war of attrition. Reason it worked in Disc 2 and not 1 is because you needed some items from Garnet's scenario at the start of Disc 2.

Toughest one. Probably Secret of Mana, but Zelda 3, Final Fantasy IV, Chrono Trigger all come close. Not to suggest I only played fantasy adventure/RPG games; plenty of time spent with Super Mario World, Castlevania IV, Contra III, Pilotwings, Ogre Battle, Street Fighter II. I know this is "one most played game" thread but the SNES was such a monumentally amazing system I really rotated all these titles out nearly equally.

Soul Calibur II. I wish it was God Hand, but back when I lived in a party shack with my bros, we left SC2 powered on in the PS2 24/7. It started as a joke ("hey bro, is the PS2 still on?") then it became a thing.

We didn't play many PSX games. I think we had a Gamecube at some point, probably Metroid Prime if I had to pick.

>1980s Arcade:
Double Dragon was MY JAM. It was a big deal to me that this game had 2 player coop fighting action and I just happened to have a best friend who also liked it, so when we were running around outdoors we played Billy & Jimmy all the time (when we weren't playing Dukes of Hazzard).

>1990s Arcade:
Tekken Tag. Actually we had a ritual every time we went to the arcade as teens: Several rounds of Tekken Tag (usually whupping the pants off the black dudes who always picked Eddy Gordo), then a round of one of those cheesy FMV lightgun games (Lethal Enforcers, Maximum Force), then we'd split up to do our own thing (for me, it was Puyo Puyo)
