bought this on psp back in the day when my drive still worked on my psp,was my first castlevania after dawn of sorrow on DS and i really liked it.
the best thing about it is that you can unlock the old version and also symphony of the night and thats how i discovered it,it was good value for the money.

Exactly. Rondo of Blood was designed to be played in 60fps with 2d sprites, not for 30fps 3d polygon slop.

Explain in an empiric way how 30 stable fps make the game bad.
Have in mind the remake is even harder than the og and demands more from the player. It was though but I beat Dracula, both story mode and boss rush mode. Hardcore stuff. The framerate was fine.

It's not as charming aesthetically and the controls feel worse than the original game. Most changes such as new bosses are boring and not fun, along with the new boss music being horrible. The new final Dracula phase is fine.

The ugly thing is hyperbole, the game looks fine especially when not stretched on HD screens through emulation.
The original PCE game has some blando backgrounds with brick walls, the remake has some really detailed ones instead.

I've only ever played it on PSP and went through the remake only once. I think it looks like ass, but I like pixels and dislike low polygon models. Play it all you want if you like but don't act shocked most people ignore the remake.

Improved 5' is good (as is the Hydra boss they added), but the original 5' had one of the best tracks in the whole series and this game replaced it with forgettable garbage. Giving Dracula a 3rd phase also fixes the biggest problem with Rondo (that being its underwhelming final boss fight), but it's not enough to compensate for the absolutely cataclysmic downgrade in music and visuals. So, not a terrible game by any means but not great.
