I guess but it's not very constructive. You're totally allowed to not like thing, but you're practically just saying "I dont like thing". What did you not like about it?
Some of the flaws are bullshit secrets like finding the waterman, or secret town of ruto. Combat isnt immediately intuitive (attacking above the shields seems unintended).
If you dont manage your xp properly, you can get fucked and be underleveled for great palace.
All those flaws aside, I enjoy the game.

The typical braindead zoomer "there is no game like Zelda 2 for a reason" meme.

Not only did it spawn a wave of direct clones, it was the first critically acclaimed and best selling game to mix RPG elements with an action genre, giving everyone else ideas. All your modern games that add RPG elements to literally everything needlessly? They all can be traced back to Zelda 2.

Zelda 2 is an incredibly rewarding game to play, not only is there a constant feeling of progression through seeing Link get stronger through learning new sword moves and magic; there's also a very real feeling feeling of progression for you, the player, through mastering controlling link and developing strategies to be able to breeze through enemies and temples that felt incredibly difficult to beat.
Playing with save states completely ruins that experience. I can somewhat forgive save states that just make more "convenient" check points. Like making one at the final boss of Ninja Gaiden 1. It's not something that I would do but sure you did at the very least "beat" the game. But brute forcing through no you didn't beat the game.

Zelda 2 sold 4,4millions worldwide

Xanadu sold 400k copies accross all versions; and 3 of those versions were released after Zelda 2.

Even then there is a difference between the two games: Xanadu is still an RPG at its chore, while Zelda 2 is an action game given some RPG mechanics (though both things are called A-RPGs for lack of better term, the degree of RPGness isn't the same, it's like how both Echo Night and Resident Evil are survival horror despite the degree of action and adventure elements being at the opposite end of the spectrum). There is a huge difference between Xanadu and Faxanadu for instance, the later of which is obviously directly inspired by Zelda 2.

This game really is dogshit. Walking, walking, and more fucking walking. There's your gameplay. Might as well get off my chair and go for a walk my own damn self. If you fuck up, your ass is going back to the Northern Palace and that means more walking. You're actively avoiding enemy encounters because they give you shit experience and drain your health without any chance of a health pickup other than a random fairy spawn, which means more walking. You might as well stop and grind in a palace before you get a move on because everything hits like a truck and you aren't getting shit for experience in any other way. It's all such a fucking boring test of patience. The manual didn't give me shit for help either, the only useful thing it told me was that there was spell in every town. Guess they expected players to comb through every tile to find the NPC for the bridge and the cave to Dungeon 3. Really got my money's worth on that one, Nintendo has done it again! Piss off, faggots.

No wonder Miyamoto disowned this shit, it probably bored him to sleep too. First Zelda game was way better, at least that one is fun.

Mostly this and it's not the good kind of repetitive. The only real part I thought sucked was the one maze island where you have to go back and forth through that long ass maze a couple of times, but it was fine besides that. I'd say some don't quite get the point of the system really; the core idea of the "proper" swordfighting mechanics is that there's no way of guaranteein a successful hit.

Essentially, there's a small % chance of damaging an Iron Knuckle-type enemy with an attack from any given position (standing or crouching), but with every attack you land from that position (regardless of whether it's parried or not), that chance decreases until it very soon reaches 0%. You can reset that base chance by switching attacking position, or by slowing down the frequency of your attacks.

So what makes the system unfun or poorly designed for some anons is mostly assumptions born of modern game design sensibilities: the game is not tasking the player with finding "the way" to damage the shielded enemies. The point is learning to maximize the chances of getting a hit through while defending yourself at the same time till that happens. It's not a puzzle, it's about concentration, reflexes and endurance.

Of course, the devs may have not realized how comparatively easy was to pull off the jump and strike alternative to that lol
